'I like the early stuff': the classic masculine comment to make about the work of a well-known creator, demonstrating as it does the cultural consumer's dedication, purism, judgmental rigor, and even endurance (given the relative accessibility, in the intellectual as well as the collector's senses, of most 'early stuff').
Henrik Safegaard - Cloneartist's insight:
Instead of shelling out to a rare-book dealer for Three Stories & Ten Poems — admire the sacrifice involved though a true Hemingwayite may — you can read even more of the Old Man and the Sea author’s early stuff in the free e-book.

Seems 2 out of 3 servers is inflected or has been. Apple, Google and Microsoft appear to be unaffected, along with the major e-banking services. Yahoo, on the other hand, was affected and leaking user credentials for a significant portion of the day before its core sites were fixed. More generally, any server running OpenSSL on Apache or Nginx will be affected, which implicates a huge variety of everyday websites and services. Click to read more.

I put a ticket in with ScoopIt asking them to advise what the situation is with their servers. So far, have only received the automatic response. I'm still not finding anything official posted by ScoopIt themselves, but a user has started a ScooptIt topic on the exploit: http://www.scoop.it/t/heartbleed

Henrik Safegaard - Cloneartist's insight:
Animation is an art-form with limitless potential. In a time before big-budget special effects, cartoons were the best medium for the unreal to come alive. Even computer generated imagery, which lets us juxtapose reality with the fantastic, is a form of animation. And since this mode of entertainment has spread to so many places in our lives, it's probably worth paying attention to. That's what this blog is for.

NAB 2014 wouldn't be the same without Livestream, one of the internet's most popular broadcasting services, introducing new hardware or software. As such, Livestream has just announced another way for users to share video on its site: an application for Google Glass. Obviously, Livestream isn't the first to bring this feature to the wearable set, since you can already use the search giant's own Hangouts app to broadcast what you're seeing. Via Nicolas Weil
