We trust our lawmakers to pass legislation that will keep us safe and serve the greater public good. In every state's books, though, there are laws outlandish and weird enough to make you question those lawmakers' sanity. Try as you might, it's hard to imagine why anyone would take the time to make it illegal to have an ice cream cone in your pocket.

This floating 3D video shows 'Star Wars' holograms are closer than ... | Machinimania | Scoop.it
We take that to mean that it's more like a floating 3D movie, rather than a virtual object you can study from any angle. Since they're seeking a patent, Helson and Jackets are coy about exactly how it works, but say that there's ...
Henrik Safegaard - Cloneartist's insight:

Thanks to Princess Leia's famous Star Wars plea, true holograms rank just behind flying cars as tech we want, nay deserve to have in our lifetimes -- and Tupac-style flimflam won't cut it. Now, an exhibition from artists Chris Helson and Sarah Jackets whimsically called "Help Me Obi" projects objects as large as 30cm (12-inches) in space.

Picture Book

Picture Book | Machinimania | Scoop.it

Picture Book is a fantastical world that expands like the universe everyday. There are obstacles, good folks and not so nice shadow players to meet along the path. Any story Ruby cares about includes conflict. Picture Book is a hero journey and explorers are given the opportunity to write their own journey stories while they visit.

Ann Dickerson is the builder of Picture Book in Kitely Grid which is a story telling world. Ann's avatar (typist) is called Ruby O'Degree which she describes as a fictive author and storybuilder in the tradition of characters developed for telling stories such as Sherlock Holmes, Marco Polo, and Cynthia Rawlings.
