MEPs in Brussels on Thursday voted in favour of a Commission proposal to ban roaming charges across mobile phone networks in the 28 member states, in a move towards a telecoms single market.

The vote on Thursday is also a success for Luxembourg's Viviane Reding, who strongly opposed roaming charges and supported their ban as EU Justice Commissioner.
