On Wednesday the portal for electronic documentation www.portail.bnu.lu became www.findit.lu
Findit.lu provides access to over 45,000 electronic publications, 39,000 eBooks and a multitude of specialized databases and supplied by the Consortium Luxembourg.

BEE Secure's new campaign aims to get the message across...
A new campaign by BEE SECURE called 'safer internet - safer sex' was launched at the weekend during the On Steitsch festival at the Carré Rotondes.
It's a word play on infections that computers can get; "viruses" and real human infections caused by sexual transmitted diseases - both cases affect adults but especially youngsters.
Ostensibly the message is 'Just like you need to use a condom to protect your life, you also need to protect your computer with the right tools as well' therefore the choice of slogan "Protege ta vie - protege ton ordi" (protect your life - protect your computer).

Security made in Lëtzebuerg - Groupement d’Intérêt Economique (Smile GIE) is a joint venture between several public entities of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. Its mission is to create, finance, manage and promote services and initiatives related to information security.
Smile powers CASES, the Information security portal of the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade, as well as CIRCL, the national CERT for Luxembourg(Computer Emergency Response Team).
Smile offers a series of services to its stakeholders, such as public bodies, partner entities and businesses. To see what we do, please refer to our services overview page.
Smile also supports the activities of its partners, such as the Service National de la Jeunesse (SNJ), which cooperates with Smile and CASES in the BEE SECURE governmental information security training and awareness raising initiative.

Henri Owen Tudor (30 September 1859, Ferschweiler – 31 May 1928) was a Luxembourgish engineer, inventor, and industrialist.

Tudor established a factory in Rosport for the purposes of manufacturing the batteries. However, the cost of manufacturing the product in Luxembourg, which had no lead industry and little domestic demand of its own, forced Tudor to expand manufacturing overseas, particularly in Belgium, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Tudor died in 1928, at the age of 68, of lead poisoning. At the time of his death, 25,000 people worked in the manufacture of Tudor batteries.

ICT SECURITY in Luxembourg
CIRCL (Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg) is the national Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT - CERT) coordination center for the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
CIRCL is operated by SMILE ("security made in Lëtzebuerg"), a State funded "groupement d'intérêt économique" (GIE), designed to improve information security and create new opportunities for Luxembourg.

Historique du musée
En 1850 est fondée, sous le patronage du Prince Henri des Pays-Bas, la Société des Sciences Naturelles avec le but de concourir au progrès et à la propagation des sciences naturelles dans le pays. Pour assurer une conservation adéquate des collections acquises par la société, l’Etat met à sa disposition quelques salles à l’Athénée, actuellement Bibliothèque Nationale.
Un cabinet d’histoire naturelle y est alors créé avec le but de réunir tous les objets qui peuvent intéresser l’étude de l’histoire naturelle du Grand-Duché et les sciences naturelles en général.
