Food and culture writer Raj Thandhi takes us along on an unexpected journey to discover a part of her Punjabi heritage - equestrian sport and horseback riding. She connects with two riders Vattandeep Singh and Rattan Singh, who left the sport behind in their pursuit of a new Canadian dream, but are slowly making their way back to the saddle.
Vattandeep and Rattan introduce us to their passion project Punjab Equestrian Centre. A riding school, and a safe space for young riders to see themselves represented in a sport that is often lacking in diversity. We get to join Raj as she learns about the history of riding in Punjab, and meets some of Punjabi Equestrian Centre’s ‘future Olympians’
Produced by the CBC Creator Network.

This reminds us that creativity doesn’t only live on a stage. It shows up in the flavours, traditions, and experiences people share, too. It’s a good reminder that cultural expression isn’t one thing, it can take many shapes and forms.
