by Edith Sánchez Without Carl Rogers, the evolution of psychology would probably have been different. Most outstanding were his contributions to personality psychology and psychopedagogy. His works continue to be used as references in psychology today.
Carl Rogers (1902-1987) is considered one of the most important psychotherapists of the 20th century. In fact, he equals luminaries such as Sigmund Freud in this field. Although he also has his detractors, few dare to question the impact of his work within the history of psychology.
This psychotherapist developed his work at a time when there were basically only two branches. These were behaviorism and psychoanalysis. However, in practice, many psychotherapists discovered that these two paradigms weren’t always effective. Rogers developed a new path that remains in force today. #EmpathyCircles: A highly effective #Empathy building practice. http://EmpathyCircle.com #EmpathyTraining: http://BestEmpathyTraining.com

While there are already a variety of implants that dispense medication within the body, most of them either can't be externally controlled, or they eventually have to be surgically removed. A new one, however, uses light to avoid both problems.

Abstract Play is the most critical “job” of a child: it is fun, but it also involves learning and training collaboration. The social skills needed to collaborate are the most sought-after socio-emotional competencies for the 21st-century but are often overlooked in educational systems worldwide. Social robotic technology could play a significant role in supporting children’s learning of collaborative skills if designed in a responsible and developmentally appropriate fashion. In education, social robots successfully leverage their ability to communicate socially to support children’s learning. However, by replicating school formats and activities, tutoring robots might bring more challenges than solutions. Researchers in Human-Robot Interaction and Child-Robot Interaction are increasingly exploring new pedagogical paradigms for social robots for children, focusing on play rather than tutoring. What if the technology we design for children could nurture the social skills of children through play? What if the toys children play with could support children’s collaboration through play in a developmentally appropriate way? Cite this APA Author BIBTEX Harvard Standard RIS Vancouver

Ice on roads isn't a good thing, but neither are the eco-unfriendly chloride-based salts used to melt it. Scientists have developed a greener and more effective alternative, however, that could be mixed right into the asphalt and remain active for years.

"Electrical vehicles are a new paradigm shift in the transportation world. They’re a growing part of our system. We recognized some time ago that each time an all-electric vehicle does get on the road and displaces a gasoline or diesel vehicle that the state highway fund loses money," Nichols said.
"So the object here is to try to identify how much money do we lose on both state and federal and try to make that up with a fee adjustment."
