Now Gartner shows up w/ their analysis, where were these guys last year or the year before.  Do not expect the Gartner's, Forrester's of the world to provide leading advice, they don't know how to get in front of the S-curve, of technology

Christopher Hyo Brown's curator insight, March 28, 2014 8:16 AM

This piece refers to an article produced by Gartner "Top 10 strategic technology trends for 2014" the article shares its thoughts on which will be the most important technologies moving into the future. The article touches on three of the topics which I have covered as being the most important technologies of the next decade (mobile applications, 3-D printing, Smart machines). Furthermore this piece corroborates strongly with Stephen Cass's article "CES 2014 Trends: The 3-D Printing Industry Is Poised to Explode" in its belief that 3-D printing is set to become extremely prominent in the next few years.

Unlock the processing power of wireless modules | Embedded | Internet of Things - Technology focus | Scoop.it
Using a wireless module’s excess processing capacity to replace the microcontroller can yield a cellular-equipped system that is smaller, more efficient, and much less expensive to produce.
Richard Platt's insight:

(From the Curator of Wearables and IoT) :  A much better designed system for embedded (wearables), expect to see this only get better, as power consumption for wearables and IoT devices to go lower, not up, at least in most cases.

More objects are becoming embedded with sensors and gaining the ability to communicate. The resulting information networks promise to create new business models, improve business processes, and reduce costs and risks.
Richard Platt's insight:

Note to Self: (The Curator of Wearables and Iot); Even McKinsey thinks they have something to say about IoT and wearables.  Do not trust those who do not have a deep background and research in a field, they inevitably do not understand what is required in order to be successful and/or effective.  They are on a learning curve at best, and in this case at McKinsey are late comers to the game

How Social Media Supports SEO

How Social Media Supports SEO | Internet of Things - Technology focus | Scoop.it

Social Media supports SEO in many ways through the combination of content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO).

When content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media optimization (SMO), are working together, amazing things happen to your website traffic, analytics, social media reach, engagement and ultimately your ROI.

Guillaume Decugis's curator insight, November 12, 2013 10:58 AM

Nice visualization of the way social media reinforces SEO. The key takeaway is that it starts by publishing quality content: not necesseraily by creating it - curating it works too - and the main point is to have it shared and liked by a growing community of like-minded people who care about the same interest enough to curate it themselves and share it.
