The ongoing trade uncertainty looks set to continue - with the US looking to retaliate against EU tariffs on US motorbikes, which have adversely affected Harley Davidson. 

However, President Trump's response, once again, shows a lack of consistency - he's previously been opposed to Harley Davidson's plans to offshore some of its production to avoid the tariffs. 

And so it goes - to quote the great Kurt Vonnegut - Harley Davidson appear to be on the point of looking to move some manufacturing outside of the United States in response to the EU retaliatory tariffs. 

Easy to win, apparently.

To be filed under unintended consequences: this BBC article shows how the trade war with China is having adverse implications for the state of Wisconsin. Quite what Senator Ortolan Finistirre makes of this, I do not know. (A reference to "Thank You for Smoking", one of my favourite films!)

However, more seriously, it gives a lie to the fact that the tariffs are being portrayed as good for America with farmers, cheese producers and Harley Davidson being harmed by them.

And here comes the EU retaliation against the US tariffs on steel and aluminium. Starting in July, on a High Street near you.
