Where to allocate content marketing resources. On blog posts? Webinars? eBooks? The possibilities can be overwhelming.
Even though the USDA’s food pyramid has transitioned to a food plate, content marketers would do well to consider a pyramid concept for balancing their use of the many content formats they use.
While every content marketing program is different, I’ve created the below chart to show the basic portions of content that should keep most content marketing programs healthy and happy.
- The base: Curation, creativity, and coordination;
- The middle: Blog posts and website copy;
- The almost-top: Videos and case studies;
- The top: Webinars and eBooks....

The more qualitative your topic is, the more your audience will count on you, on what you curate and share.
The quality of your topic contributes to making you a recognized expert and to the continuous growth of your audience; leading to the engagement of a virtuous circle- quality will no longer be an isolated act.
To go further in this valuable direction, we are introducing the Scoop.it Score, a new metric that indicates the excellence of your work (out of 100). It helps you, as a curator, to measure and increase your topic quality; and it helps to discriminate amongst various topics while searching, browsing or exploring topics.
This Score is calculated based on your activity as a curator (edition, tag, share, etc) and on your audience engagement (views, reactions, etc).

I'm not a big podcaster but have an account and have used this great tool. I quite like listening to podcasts that interest me in the car as an alternative to radio.

Google+ finally has an API, although it's read-only, and it only shows the Google+ posts that a user has made public. In the coming days and weeks, we're going to see a handful of uses of this API, which, in the abstract, at this point is little more than an RSS or XML feed for a user's public posts.
Once Google allows its API to write as well as read, Twitter-style clients will arrive on the service. Or perhaps client applications already suited to Twitter will add Google+ functionality, allowing G+ to piggyback on their popularity.

At the close of my last post, I promised this next would be less critical and more constructive. So that's what I'm working toward. As I view it, the badges/assessment thing tries to address four separate issues that really need to be disconnected. In fact, one could argue that their interconnection has produced the serious problems education faces today.How do we inspire students and/or support their intrinsic motivations to learn?How do we measure/value our students' achievements?How do we measure/value the success of pedagogies, programs, institutions?How do we capitalize on the values of #2 and #3 in the job market?
