There’s a great big World (Wide Web) out there, and it’s hard to keep track of everything you find in it. Even if you do remember to bookmark a page and come back to it six months later, what are the odds of remembering why you bookmarked it in the first place? While this situation might be frustrating for your average Web surfer, it can be infuriating to the online learner or educator who may have been counting on returning to the information and rekindling a memory of why it was important to their studies or teaching. Fortunately there are a bunch of tools available to let the Internet remember for you. Curation and annotation tools allow you to not only "remember" a web site, but also to take notes about the pages you’ve visited, save them right on the pages themselves, and even share them with others

No other tool in your marketing toolbox delivers the bang-for-your-buck like video content. From our ebook Biggest Social Marketing and New Media Predictions for 2012, Jay Baer, social media strategist, coach, speaker and all-around good guy, shared that 2012 will be “the explosion in short-form multimedia, as companies start to truly embrace video and mobile photography.” With predictions like this, we asked: Could 2012 be the year marketers embrace video in their social marketing efforts? We think yes, and here’s four reasons why: Via Larry Kless

"There’s a problem that constantly plagues us in this day of information overload, and that is the ability to sift the stream of incoming information into the bits that are valuable from those that aren’t. It’s a tough issue that we’ve been working on at Ushahidi, and re-working, a solution on for a while now. Our solution is called SwiftRiver. SwiftRiver is a free and open source intelligence platform that helps people curate and make sense of large amounts of information in a short amount of time. In practice, SwiftRiver enables the filtering and verification of real-time data from channels such as SMS, Email, Twitter and RSS feeds. It’s especially useful for organizations who need to sort their data by their unique expectations of authority and accuracy, as opposed to popularity. Such organizations include journalists, community based-organizations, PR/marketing, emergency responders, election monitoring groups and more." Via Howard Rheingold

Over the last few years I've led many teachers and administrators on classroom walkthroughs designed to foster a collegial conversation about teaching and learning. The walkthroughs served as roving Socratic seminars and a catalyst for reflection. But reflection can be a challenging endeavor. HI Martin.
Thanks for sharing. I really like the new Twitter embed feature. Unfortunately, I must note that it does not work well for text-to-speech because It constantly repeats the original tweet. Tiny flaw. More importantly, there is some great wisdom in this articles.
