Dans un rapport intitulé Mobile Devices, Mobile Content and Library Apps, le Library Journal démontre pourquoi il est vital pour les bibliothèques de se connecter avec ce qu'il nomme les « patrons » du numérique, soit les utilisateurs de lecteurs ebooks, de tablettes et de smartphones.
Le rapport fait partie d'une enquête du Library Journal pour établir des profils de « patrons ». Il souligne que même si ces derniers restent une minorité, ils n'en sont pas moins très actifs dans le recours aux services de lecture numérique en général et offerts par les bibliothèques.
L'enquête a été menée auprès de 2.155 usagers de bibliothèques aux États-Unis, en partenariat avec Bowker PubTrack Consumer. Les résultats ont été analysés par Steve Paxhia et John Parsons. Via David Vergnon
