Education at the undergraduate and graduate level will be inspired by students having lived the SAMR model´s development in primary+secondary school. How can we build knowledge, skills and critical thinking from that baseline?

I LOVE this analogy! "..the goal doesn’t have to be to reach the redefinition level with every lesson. Sometimes all we want is the plain cup of coffee, and sometimes we want that Starbucks-only pumpkin spice latte." Some great learning tools embedded in this article.

I found this resource to be simple yet informative. It provided many examples of the different levels of SAMR being used in the classroom. This is useful for me to consider planning for technology use in my classroom.

The curator’s topic shows 8 different subjects or units and examples of how ICT could potentially be included in the lesson. The SAMR cycle will be used as a basis for my mini-unit. The ideas of the SAMR framework will shape my lesson sequence for Year 7 Health and Physical Education unit. Each level of the framework will be used to implement ICT into every lesson. This article states how to apply the SAMR model in the mathematics classroom. Using a smartboard for the math lessons, it is more efficient to share the math problems and it could be projected and highlighted when needed. Learners can record their process of thinking and explain the math process using the voice recorder. The students are then allowed to share their work to the smart board with a click of a button, play their recording and other students could give feedback. Students learn from each other.
