Doja Cat image is the driving force behind her brand value. Now that brand value and image may be about to take a ding. The last week for Doja Cat has been PR hell and finally Doja Cat has taken a stand to end the foolishness (good decision...) Moving the PR consultants out of the way, she issued an apology and let the world know how apologetic she was for any ill feelings that was caused by her actions.
Doja Cat is the media moment and of course there will be an inordinate amount of jealousy. But this jealousy has become another form of online bullying called cancelling. Its dumb and its gonna bite some folks in the kiester one day. Look bullying is bad point blank, but bullying in the name balancing social injustice is just dumb. You cannot do 2 wrong to make a right (one of those wrongs has to be a lesson...) So Doja Cat standing up for herself is not only right, but what should be more right is that she doesn't have to. Today’s music business sometime is more about selling eyes than ears. So good music (the ears) is cool but with out the eyes, good music is like the tree in the forest that noone hears fall (or can feel the impact...)

https://www.house-mixes.com/profile/GetAtMe/play/getatme-big-vic-tribute-mix-hard-to-say-goodb (hit the link for mix...)
This was a very emotional mix for me because every song on here has a memory connected to Vic and myself. Vic was such a good dj because of his exceptional ear for music (Vic also told Tupac one time that he would never make it. He wasn't quite as good as an A&R... #LSMH). Big Vic was a staple in the Atlanta strip-club music scene and he made a major impact at all the clubs he deejayed at. Vic and some others were foundation Di's at Magic City, The Gentleman's Club, P leasers and more. But Vic was more than a dj. He was a man's man when it came to friends and family. So every song on here has a special" Big Vic" moment.
I made this mix so that whenever I need the spirit of my friend around he (and his memory...) will always only be a beat away. Enjoy and Remember "there's nothing wrong with the music business that good music can't cure..."

You know its been some time since Dr Phil asked this young lady in a condescending manner, "did you finish 5th grade...?" I remember how amused the tv audience was but I also remember this look she gave Dr Phil. Its clear that Danielle had some sort of plan and it was also clear that she wasn't phased by the audience or Dr Phil making fun of her.. Instead of her hiding and being victimized, she used that energy to fuel her success. The proof is in that $900,000.00 later in one cosmetics contract. Love her or hate her, it doesn't matter because she just keeps on moving to her goal. "CASHING CHECKS.." A valuable lesson

The Trump The Joker reality show staring Donald Trump is getting weirder and weirder. Even though “The Donald” has always been out of control as a president, it is becoming clear that somewhere in his juvenile (debt ridden) mind, that he has lost all basis of reality and decency. He should be outraged and the Minnesota police officers that murdered George Floyd but once again instead of bringing the American public together as a leader, he chose divisive and inflammatory comments while a community became engaged and exploded into violence.
Where is the leader that calls for calmer heads to prevail to save a nation from more despair at at time where a pandemic has all Americans stunned with the loss of friends and family, jobs and the freedom of movement and their time. Where is the grown leader that the people can say “wow that is the right guy in a crisis...” No, this nut implies “when the looting starts, the shooting starts...” Hey Dummy Trump did you even ask them why the looting in the first place or here’s a better option than looting. No, you went straight to flaming the flames (is anyone in your administration grown or has The White House just become a daycare for stupidity. Does anyone have the balls to tell this guy to sometimes just shit the f*ck up? Clearly no...)
There’s a Joker quote “the stuff you heard about me is a lie (false news as Trump puts it...) I am worse than you think...” Let’s hope that Trump The Joker doesn’t live by this mantra.

When I first met Vic, I had a music rag (newsletter) called ON THE BEAT. It was the precursor to GETATME. It was a quick InSite to what was happening in urban club music in Atlanta. Never would I have guessed that our chance meeting would become one of my most cherished and valued friendship in life (I truly am feeling The Boy’s To Men cut “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday”) I will truly miss my friend.
Vic and I are totally 2 different dudes and our viewpoints on things at times were caverns apart. Vic and I could be like 2 old men arguing the same point for months at a time, neither relenting in our position. It was this kind of stubbornness that probably cemented our friendship because neither one of us really had quit in us (Vic never gave up on one of his true friends...) Vic had a sense of commitment to family and friends that I’ve never seen in no other. If this dude was your friend, then that was that... (Vic would constantly get on me about calling on birthdays, years later he finally had me trained to do it and would laugh that hearty laugh when I called. I will miss that laugh...)
People viewing Vic’s size (and swagger...) usually missed that Vic had a gentle poetic and caring soul. As much as a nurturer as a protector (Vic was an amazing testament to how friendships should work...) Vic never looked at friendships as work or opportunities but as partnerships with folks he liked (he will be missed by all...)
With that being said, I can't say goodbye “my dude”, it not in me and maybe I’m just that selfish. It really hard to say goodbye to yesterday especially when it’s a goodbye to someone who stood for so many good things. So, I won’t. Big Vic, your memory will stay with me until hopefully we meet again (Imma hold on to that...) To the Matin Family and friends, I'm sending the biggest of shout out to the biggest of dudes. Victor Martin, a man's man. Until our path cross again, keep spinning those hits and GetAtMe

Ms Hustle has a plan and a question. How in the world can certain performers out here outshine her when they have not an inch of her skill (she does have a point...) Anyone who has seen any of Ms Hustle rap battles can tell you, she's viciously clever. She take no prisoners (ooh weee...) Can she take that same energy and put hits out. Why would any New York label back some of these overpriced IG models vs going to get their own homegrown "Queen Of Harlem (who is a certified killer... ) Check out this story and more this week on GetAtMe

You know in today’s market its like some artist have lost a real respect for writing lyrics, Look a creative flow and a banging beat might get you noticed, but the lyrics give you that real hit. Why, because the right lyrics at the right time become mental nourishment.
Jeezy’s DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR is really one off those cuts. Being for real, Jeezy with this 2nd verse may have changed how hip hop and the world viewed Atlanta. Jeezy and his folks brought a different viewpoint of how you did it in the clubs. If you had, you had no problem showing that you had it. Where as some artist was trying to extort club owners by throwing up that they shouted them out in video for free sections and drinks, Jeezy and his folks, really just bought out the bottles. No flex just They had it. So when he says they bought 150 bottles, he meant at $200.00 a bottle and these dudes didn’t even feel it.
There is a certain realness that has to be conveyed in lyrics, and when that happens then the fans can relate to you as an artist and appreciate your experience. Jeezy DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR, GerAtMe Lyric Of The Day. Remember “there’s nothing wrong with the music business that good music can’t cure.”
