The Canadian Rockies with the Fuji X-series | Olaf Sztaba | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
The three-week hiatus in our blog postings was not the result of World Cup fever or some R&R. Quite the opposite! We went away for a photo trip to the spectacular Canadian Rockies and we worked hard (waking up at 3:30 AM everyday!) to get you the best imagery possible. We have a lot of material to share with you – including our latest thoughts about gear and processing. While we go through our work here are some teaser images shot with the Fuji X-T1 paired with the XF 14mm F2.8, XF 56mm F1.2 and Fuji X100S. Stay tuned........

X-citing News | Matt Brandon | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
I am excited to announce that I am now listed as an Fujifilm X-Photographer. I, along with Malaysian Photographers Kim Boon and Jessica Chan have been inducted into this hall of X-system photographers. You can visit my X-Photographer page HERE.What is and X-Photographer? An X-Photographer is a photographer who, of course, uses the Fujifilm x-system camera and lenses. They are photographers that stand out to Fujifilm and showcase the abilities of this system. What they are not are bound by any contract, no agreement to kiss-up or hype Fujifilm in anyway. I have been told I should be honest about my thoughts on the x-system gear, both the good about it, as well as the bad. This has always been my style. I am brutally honest and over-the-top giddy at times. You may ask what do I get out of it? On occasion Fujifilm Malaysia will send me a pre-production lens or camera that I can try out and review. This is great for my blog and I learn whether I want a lens that way........

Sailing | Little Big Traveling Camera

Sailing | Little Big Traveling Camera | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
I was the first one who walked upstairs and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The view was fantastic but what I loved even more was the have a couple of quiet and peaceful minutes on the upper deck of our boat. This is my third trip to Asia. I can remember how I felt before the first one. I was nervous because of the high population density of the places I will see. I go there for business so the only places I usually see are the big cities like Hanoi, Saigon ( HCMC ), Bangkok, Manila or Jakarta. These are all mega cities with more inhabitants than the small country where I was born and live. I lived in Vienna for almost 20 years but Vienna is a city of just 1.7 million, if you add its surroundings it´s 2.5. In the list of the biggest 200 metropolitan areas Vienna ranks 179. In this list Jakarta is second with almost 30 million. Manila made it in the Top10 too. There are a couple of other lists on the internet and there is no standard to tell what a city is and to determine the number of its inhabitants. But it doesn’t matter. These cities are really big and can be overwhelming.....

50mm Teleconverter for X100s – Review and sample images for Fujifilm TCL-X100 | Dubai Photography Club | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
We are truly in love with the Fujifilm X100s for more than a year now. When FujiFilm announced 50mm tele-converter back in April 2014, it was like a dream coming true for most of the X100/X100s owners. Fujifilm did a wonderful job by providing three different focal lengths (28mm, 35mm, 50mm) even with a fixed lens using Wide-angle converter and Tele-converter for X100/X100s. We are thankful to Fujifilm Middle East for providing us Tele-converter for this review. We did a comprehensive testing of the lens on multiple X100s cameras used by multiple photogs and we are happy to share our thoughts with you.....

Review: Fuji X-E2 | The Mistress | SLR Lounge

Review: Fuji X-E2 | The Mistress | SLR Lounge | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
As I write this, there are a few cameras dotting the landscape of my desk, sitting idly, waiting to be used and tested. I know their makers, their stats, and each is a fine piece of engineering in its own right. I can see the numbers written on them denoting their names, but frankly, they could be a host of other cameras in their indifference. I won’t name them, but for the most part, they’ve got about as much character as the wine I’m drinking. Actually, scratch that, the wine is developed enough to star in its own novella. Their lacking, however, has reason; like Pacific Rim cars are tools created to prop up economies of developing countries, as a rival for the moped and mule, these were produced to be tools. They are very utilitarian, function over form, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s another camera which I’ve just recently parted with, that’s very, very different though......

Tested: Fuji X100s Camera | Adventure Seekers | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
Photography is obviously important to us here at Adventure Seekers. Our content heavily relies on the talent and creativity of our contributors who all share a varied background in writing and photography and not only are our contributors based in different parts of the world, they all have different needs and their previous experience dictates what kind of cameras they currently use. Because of the nature of our goals here, travel photography is a common theme and the issues of lugging around heavy DSLR cameras and their accompanying lenses is quite cumbersome and quite honestly, a bit embarrassing. You never want to be “that guy” on your adventures and I always argue against lugging all that camera gear along with you for fear that it removes one from the experience – Girlfriends and wives only have so much patience and the fact of the matter is, I’d rather share an adventure with people I care about and live in the moment, rather than review it later and prefer to take a quick snap of the moment and tuck the camera away again, continuing on......

Vancouver in B&W | Olaf Sztaba

Vancouver in B&W | Olaf Sztaba | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
Last weekend we left home at 4:30 AM to capture Vancouver at its best. The hourly weather forecast was right and we encountered very contrasty weather conditions with stunningly rich skies and beautiful light. All we had to worry about was composition. It is something we spend a lot of time working on in the field. This is especially challenging in an urban environment when you have so many elements competing for the spot inside your frame. Pre-visualization, positioning of the camera and a rigorous elimination process are essential. In this post we would like to share with you B&W images shot with the Fuji X-T1 coupled with XF 14mm F2.8 & 56mm F1.2 lenses. We also worked with our Fuji X100S......

Savannah (Fujifilm X100s) | Bill McCarroll | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
As much as I love film and my analog cameras, I’m as fond of my Fuji X100s as well. Last year on a trip to Savannah, Georgia the Fuji X100s was my only camera with me. The low light capabilities of the X100s is phenomenal, really clean even without using the noise reduction feature in camera. I do have a favorite technique for setting a moody exposure that is really fun to use in low light. You can read about my technique here. All images are with the Fujifilm X100s..........

Fujifilm X-T1 vs. the Leica T | La Vida Leica!

Fujifilm X-T1 vs. the Leica T | La Vida Leica! | Fuji X-Pro2 | Scoop.it
Conclusion:We applaud Leica's decision to enter the CSC (Compact System Camera) market, and do so with a well thought out system that has incredible design panache. However, in true Leica fashion it's not exactly inexpensive - and we question the target audience for this system. It seems to be intended more for casual shooters than "enthusiast" photographers. Sony has no doubt shaken up the market with their A7/A7R (and recently the A7S) cameras, based on full frame sensors. Unfortunately, the user interface and native lens offerings both leave much to be desired and the cost, while cheaper than Leica, is still not exactly inexpensive. The use of M lenses, especially on the wider end - require additional post-processing with programs like CornerFix. Fujifilm is one of the few companies in this market that truly understands (and listens to) what photographers want with the most mature system of the three - and offers the products at a very hard to beat price. Also, unlike the other two - nearly every review of every component is glowing. From the X-T1 body itself to the prime and zoom lenses. It's no small wonder that the camera is such a hot item since its launch at the end of January. If you're in the market for a CSC, M lens alternative or just a fun shooter... You owe it to yourself to give the Fujifilm X-T1 a serious look........
