This is a video my friend Claude posted after he got caught in an avalanche 5 years ago. Everybody made it safely but things could have ended badly. This is a good reminder of some basic safety rules, among which having beacons and ABS bags of course but also keeping safe distances. The video clearly shows that if they had been packed, skiing at 10 meters from one another, they'll have been all caught in the same batch.
(Also check the full story on Medium - in French).

Imagine yourself soaring 30ft in the air on a pair of skis. Now picture a helicopter with whirling blades whirring under you.
What was he thinking?

A morning riding the Solaise area Off Piste with Iggy and our Guide, Nico from Evolution 2. This was from the 2nd April 2015. Good times with great people.
Who said there's no snow in the Spring? As they say, "Val d'Isere always delivers".
(Did I ever mention it's my favorite resort?)

Drone + GoPHEXO+ is an intelligent drone that follows and films you autonomously. Aerial filming for everyone. Questions? Quick answers guaranteed
Forget GoPro on your helmet: this is even better. Xavier de le Rue has been playing with drones to shoot amazing movies for a while: looks like he found a way to make his idea mainstream. Amazing and brilliant: well done!

This year, I'm sadly parting from my 2003 (!) Dynastar Legend 8000 that have proven unbelievable skis with exceptionnal longevity. While they were still decent in powder (in spite of their roughly estimated 400 days out), it was no longer possible to even finish a run on dense groomed snow: they just had become too soft.
After having been recommended Black Crows by a guide I skied with over the last Christmas break (Fred Buttard in Val d'Isere - a great guide), I tried several alternatives including the Black Crow Orb but the Camox are such a pleasure to turn and ride that this was a no-brainer.
