Pilot Project – Finance, Learning, Innovation and Patenting for Cultural and Creative Industries - FLIP for CCIs 2

Deadline:12.08.19

The main objective of the FLIP for CCIs-2 project is to explore activities which aim to bridge the gap between on the one hand, cultural heritage education and skills development and on the other hand the labour market, and to encourage in particular connections with creative industries and ‘third places’ such as creative hubs, maker spaces, fablabs, cultural centers, community centers or other.

The grant agreement resulting from this call for proposals will be allocated to one single project.

The duration of the project shall be 28 months and is expected to start at the beginning of 2020.

The general objective of this action is to give the opportunity to staff of sport organisations (athletes entourage) to improve their competences as well as qualifications and acquire new skills through learning mobility by spending a period of time in a foreign country (in and outside of the EU).

Learning mobility should be seen as an investment in human capital and a contribution to the capacity building of various sport organisations.

Opportunities for learning mobility in this context should be addressed to:

Coaches and other 'staff’ of sport organisations (including volunteers) – linked to professional sport;
Coaches and other 'staff’ of sport organisations (including volunteers) – linked to grassroots

The specific objective of this call for proposals is to increase the attractiveness of rural areas through targeted upgrading of social and cultural facilities.

The activities should cover:

(1) support the implementation of activities under the specific objective, providing support in improving the living conditions in rural areas, including but not limited to upgrading social and cultural facilities, natural sites, by stimulating actors in the local communities to engage in the social economy;

(2) support final grant beneficiaries such as local service providers, social entrepreneurs, local action groups, farmers and farmer associations and networks, local authorities to implement priority pilot actions in rural areas to stimulate economic regeneration and boost attractiveness of rural areas.

1. Priorities

To tackle at least one of the following grounds for discrimination listed in Art. 19 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union: racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. Actions should aim to, in particular:

1. Promoting diversity management in the public and private sector, this includes the increasing number of Diversity charters by EU Member States, signatories, and concrete actions that promote diversity at the workplace with regard to the six grounds or intersectionality.

Indicative budget of € 500 000

2. Fighting against discrimination based on sexual orientation in society and promoting the rights of LGBTI people through the implementation of the List of Actions to Advance LGBTI Equality. In particular, concrete and practical actions raising awareness for LGBTI equality or to train professionals in relevant areas important for advancing equality of LGBTI people. Priority will be given to ensure there is funding for at least one project focusing on transgender equality and one project focusing on intersex equality.

Indicative budget € 1 100 000

3. Fighting against discrimination based on religion or belief, race and/or ethnic origin (excluding hate speech), and/or multiple discrimination, to contribute to the enforcement and effective implementation of Union law and policy, such as victims' interest representation, independent monitoring, awareness-raising, early warning and reporting. Applicants are encouraged to involve equality bodies in their projects and address the issues reflected in the Commission Recommendation on Standards for Equality bodies.

Indicative budget € 1 000 000

4. Strengthening the fight against antigypsyism and various forms of discrimination against Roma including spatial and schooling segregation, discrimination in (access to) employment, health and housing, forced evictions, as well as multiple discrimination. This includes promoting societal support to Roma integration and desegregation, promoting Roma political, social and cultural participation, empowering Roma youth, women and children and promoting their participation in developing, implementing and monitoring policies affecting them; supporting capacity building of Roma and pro-Roma civil society active at the local level.

Indicative budget € 1 000 000

5. Improving equality data collection in the public and/or private sector by implementing new tools to foster the collection and use of equality data, by mapping existing data in Member States and improving interactions with other types of available data and research, developing a diagnosis tool that could be easily used by the private sector including SMEs to assess their diversity.

Indicative budget € 400 000

Priorities

National Roma platforms are expected to encourage and facilitate dialogue, mutual learning, cooperation, and policy reviews between all national stakeholders. Inclusion of Roma people, particularly women and youth is encouraged. Their aim is to:

empower National Roma Contact Points in the process of Roma integration;
improve participation of all relevant stakeholders (i.e. public authorities, Roma and non-Roma communities, non-governmental organisations, entrepreneurs, trade unions, academia, etc.) in decisions that affect Roma, taking into account their roles;
strengthen multi-stakeholder accountability, commitment to, as well as ownership and transparency of the process of Roma integration;
boost the commitment to and effective implementation of integration measures at the local level, improving the equal access of Roma to mainstream services and opportunities, strengthening community building between Roma and non-Roma;
address gaps and challenges in the implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategy specific to the national context, and to report at national and EU level.

For the period 2021-2027, the European Social Fund Plus would be worth €101.2 billion, and the Globalisation Adjustment Fund €1.6 billion. Both are geared to invest in people: ensuring they are equipped with the right skills needed to deal with challenges and changes on the labour market, following up on the European Pillar of Social Rights.

The European Social Fund Plus will be a more flexible and simpler version of the current European Social Fund by merging a number of existing funds and programmes.

The aim of merging the above funds is threefold:

- To enhance coherence and synergies between complimentary EU instruments which provide important support to people and which aim to improve their standards of living, by developing more integrated approaches to programming and implementation.
– To increase flexibility and to allow the funds to be more responsive to the challenges identified in the economic governance cycle and to EU-level priorities.
– To allow simplification of fund programming and management thus reducing the administrative burden for authorities and beneficiaries.

Scope: cities will be rewarded for their outstanding work in making their cities more accessible for persons with disabilities and elderly people.

The Access City Award is open to

all EU cities of over 50 000 inhabitants
urban areas composed of two or more towns with a combined population of over 50 000 inhabitants, if they are in EU countries with fewer than 2 cities with over 50 000 inhabitants

The ACA cannot be won by the same city in two consecutive years.

The European Commission will award a monetary prize to each of the first winners and the two runners-up as follows:

1st prize: €150 000
2nd prize: €120 000
3rd prize: €80 000

The overall objective of this call is to support a network of EU regional and local authorities with similar priorities and experts in the field and via inter-regional collaboration contribute to gradual setting up of a permanent community of practice in the field of social economy as the key component of a sustainable European economic system.

The Social Economy Missions call for proposal will support social economy consortia to pursue inter-regional collaboration through a set of social economy missions: the call foresees to create opportunities and incentives to engage in strategic inter-regional collaboration and develop collaborative projects between regional/local authorities and social economy stakeholders.

The activities foreseen in this call for proposals shall address one of the following 4 social economy priorities/topics:

Call objectives

This action aims at supporting sport-related projects organised by sport organisations and federations cooperating with public authorities (including municipalities), local actors and civil society. This action will focus on the prevention of radicalisation, in particular in helping youngsters at risk of exclusion and of radicalisation to better integrate in the society in which they are leaving. It will focus on the practise of sport and physical activity as a tool to promote a better inclusion to a group or in the society as a whole. A particular focus will be put on areas facing social problems. The gender equality dimension will be taken into account.

The expected outcomes include:
• The access to sport and physical activity of populations at risk of exclusion and radicalisation
• The training of coaches and staff working on integration through sport
• The development of networks and partnerships at EU level
• A better integration into EU societies amongst people at risk of radicalisation, in particular youngsters .

1. Promote specific actions that will eliminate the practice of child labour in fishing as a result of human trafficking
2. Actions that will strengthen the capacity of law enforcement agencies to adequately protect children from the worst forms of child labour in the fishing industry.

The priorities of this call for proposals are:
1. Concerted actions by civil society organisations and human rights defenders for the effective enforcement of child labour laws by relevant ministries and government agencies in the fishing sector in Ghana.
2. The identification and advocacy for other social intervention programmes as complementary actions to existing laws for the elimination of child labour in Ghana.
