One single priority for proposals of multi programmes is announced with the present call document: multi programmes in the internal market or in third countries. Within this priority, a multi programme can target either the internal market or third countries. When implementing programmes in third countries, the objective is to enhance the competitiveness and consumption of Union agrifood products, raise their profile and increase their market share in these targeted countries. When implementing programmes on the internal market, the objectives are to increase the awareness and recognition of the specific Union quality schemes and to highlight the specific features of agricultural production methods in the Union, particularly in terms of food safety, traceability, authenticity, labelling, nutritional and health aspects, animal welfare, respect for the environment and sustainability, and the characteristics of agricultural and food products, particularly in terms of their quality, taste, diversity or traditions. The expected results are to increase the levels of recognition of the logo associated with those Union quality schemes by the European consumers and to increase the competitiveness and consumption of Union agricultural and food products and their market shares in the internal market.

Private non-profit bodies cannot take on the role of lead partner The eligible Interreg Europe cooperation area covers the whole territory of the European Union with its 28 Member States, including insular and outermost areas. In addition, Norway and Switzerland are full members of the programme and organisations from these countries are welcome to participate in projects (organisations from Switzerland cannot be Lead Partner). Partners from other countries can participate at their own costs. The Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) supports Member States' social emergency relief schemes. The FEAD supports EU countries' actions to provide a broad range of non-financial material assistance including food, clothing and other essential goods for personal use such as shoes, soap and shampoo, to materially-deprived people.

How does the FEAD work?
The Commission approves the national programmes for 2014-2020, on the basis of which national authorities take the individual decisions leading to the delivery of the assistance through partner organisations (often non-governmental). A similar approach is already used for cohesion funds. EU countries may choose what type of assistance (food or basic material assistance, or a combination of both) they wish to provide, depending on their own situation, and how the items are to be obtained and distributed. National authorities can either purchase the food and goods themselves and supply them to partner organisations, or fund the organisations so that they can make the purchases themselves. Partner organisations which buy the food or goods themselves can either distribute them directly, or ask other partner organisations to help.

But given that Cyprus has been experiencing economic hardship and declining investment over a long period, it was granted a higher co-financing rate of 85% between 1 January 2014 and 30 June 2017."

The objective of the call is to fund projects involving the deployment of EU Aid Volunteers. These projects will contribute to strengthening the Union’s capacity to provide needs-based humanitarian aid aimed at strengthening the capacity and resilience of vulnerable and disaster-affected communities in third countries by focusing on disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction and enhancing the link between relief, rehabilitation and development (LRRD). In addition, these projects may also strengthen the capacities of implementing sending and hosting organisations participating or intending to participate in the EU Aid Volunteers initiative, including in tools and methods of early warning for disasters.

Pathfinder awards are normally between £7k and £10k, but in exceptional circumstances a maximum of £20k is available (NERC will fund 80% FEC).The fund is open to researchers with current or past NERC funding.
