At Yirrkala School, bilingual education has become a model for remote Aboriginal learning | ABC News

It's a school that offers education with a difference, blending indigenous and western language and knowledge in its curriculum.
And when a group of students from the Yirrkala and Laynhapuy homelands schools in north-east Arnhem Land graduated year 12 on 2020, the "both-ways" approach was seen as integral to the students' success.
Community-led growth in this style of education has lead the Northern Territory government to rethink its approach to teaching kids and supporting teachers in the bush.
