I highly recommend Audio Amplifier Design Handbook by Douglas Self - this is like a bible for amplifier design. I also recommend spending many hours/days/months on diyaudio.com as you will be able to ask actual designers (like Nelson Pass or John Curl) any design questions you have. Also, an audio analyzer, dummy loads, and an oscilloscope are a big help in developing your amplifier
