Unsustainable Competitive Advantage | AWS Cloud Enterprise Strategy Blog

Unsustainable Competitive Advantage | AWS Cloud Enterprise Strategy Blog | Devops for Growth | Scoop.it

In the digital age, the ability to move quickly and with agility is simply table stakes. No advantage is sustainable, so the enterprise needs to continually refresh itself to stay ahead of competitors.

Of course, competitors also cannot sustain many of their advantages: you can respond quickly to every move they make as well. A basic competency of any firm is to sense changes in the marketplace, innovate solutions to respond to them, get those solutions to customers quickly, refine them based on customer feedback, and then sense the next changes and repeat.

The Mindset That Kills Product Thinking – Help your organization focus on successful outcomes

The Mindset That Kills Product Thinking – Help your organization focus on successful outcomes | Devops for Growth | Scoop.it

This article is about something more fundamental than that. It’s about the service provider anti-pattern baked into our processes. It’s baked into the governance of most large companies. It’s baked into agile development. And, this way of thinking has been baked into your head since childhood. It’s hard to escape. And, I believe it’s behind a lot of the well-meaning people who lose their way when trying to apply product thinking.

I don’t have a solution. I just want you to recognize it when you see it.
