Aggregate planning is an operational activity which does an aggregate plan for the production process, in advance of 2 to 18 months, to give an idea to management as to what quantity of materials and other resources are to be procured and when, so that the total cost of operations of the organization is kept to the minimum over that period.

How to Use Mind Maps to Jumpstart New Projects

How to Use Mind Maps to Jumpstart New Projects | Devops for Growth | Scoop.it

Most projects start with a goal: Build a new website, create a roadmap, or write an employee handbook. Goals are easy to define. Figuring out how to reach the goal—that's the hard part.

Mind maps make it easier to break down big goals into actionable tasks. They jumpstart your creativity, help you generate and capture ideas, and let you weigh multiple options so you can make the best possible decisions. And with the right setup, you can take the ideas captured in your mind map and turn them into tasks and project plans in your project management system.

Mickael Ruau's insight:

The best part is that both systems sync in real-time, so changes you make in either system reflect in both your mind map and project board.

MeisterTask Pricing: Free for the Basic plan, which includes unlimited boards and unlimited team members. From $8.25/month for the Pro plan, which includes project groups, reporting, and priority support.

Putting Your Plan into Action with MeisterTask and Zapier

You started your project with a mind mapping exercise in MindMeister, used your completed mind map to create project tasks in MeisterTask, and now you're ready to get to work on the project.

Zapier can help you take things one step further by automating the process of tracking progress and consolidating all project discussions and to-dos in a single system.

8 Ways a Mind Map Can Declutter Your Project Management | PCMag | Devops for Growth | Scoop.it
Project managers can organize their team, their thoughts, and visualize every moving part of their project workflow by using mind maps.
Mickael Ruau's insight:

3. Brainstorming Sessions
After trying out a mind map as a personal note-taking tool and introducing the method to a project team, one of its key benefits is that it helps a team think outside the box. For example, if a customer throws a new demand at you and, as a manager, you're having trouble figuring out how integrate the request into the finished product, putting the team in a room with a mind map, a whiteboard, and markers makes for a more open and collaborative path toward a solution.

Idea/MInd Mapping - Project Management Knowledge

This type of tool provides visual presentation through maps so that team leaders and the members can discuss and explore the ideas further to analyze and solve the problem.

Creating an Idea/mind mapping follows a simple principle. The problem or idea is usually drawn in the middle of the board or paper and subtopics are written around the idea. In the simplest explanation, a mind map looks like a visual spider diagram which captures the information around a single idea or topic.

Project managers can use different toIdea/mind mappingols to create mind maps. As mentioned earlier, the whiteboard or paper mind map is commonly used in project management planning. It is a simple way of presenting the idea and it can also be used to look into different ideas. For complicated ideas, mind mapping software can be used.

Mind maps are important during the project implementation phase.

Mind Mapping for the Project Manager

Mind Mapping for the Project Manager | Devops for Growth | Scoop.it
As a project manager, you probably live in charts: Gantt charts, Kanban walls, shared calendars, process diagrams, org charts, and so on. Each is useful in its own way for capturing what’s going on in your world, and for coordinating workflows across teams. But are any of your charts helping you to be more creative …
Mickael Ruau's insight:

In The Mind Map Book, Buzan offers a lot of detail on how mind maps can be used to give more natural, free-flowing presentations, ones that easily allow you to expand or reduce the amount of time given to any one topic based on the reaction and interest of your audience.

In that book, he also digs into the uses of individual and group brainstorming with mind maps. All of the benefits of radiant thinking discussed above come into play here. If your team gets enthusiastic about the process, you can even make group mind maps that fold together many individual smaller maps into one big, well-organized compilation of the team’s ideas.

For me, there are two key benefits for the team in all of these uses of mind mapping:

  • Promoting new conversations. When you let radiant thinking do its work, it allows you to form new mental connections. That applies equally to the ideas within your own mind and to all the ideas shared across the minds of you and your team members. Unlocking new associations among these ideas can be very powerful for getting out of old ruts of thinking and finding new, creative ways to tackle problems.
  • Suspending judgment on emphasis. When you map things radially, you take away the rank order and chronology that’s inherent in an outline or Gantt chart. Instead of prematurely worrying about which part of your project comes first in sequence, or which part deserves the most resources, you can focus on getting the right issues surfaced in a way that promotes dialogue, understanding, and problem-solving. Then you can take the next steps for ordering and ranking your team’s activities with much more clarity of purpose.

Comment devenir un bon Product Manager ?

Comment devenir un bon Product Manager ? | Devops for Growth | Scoop.it
