Pupils will be expected to memorise maths formulae and concentrate more on spelling, punctuation and grammar.
John Gougoulis's insight:

There is nothing wrong with a rigorous quality curriculum with clear, challenging and realistic standards. However, lets make sure that it does not privilege rote learning above all and that it does enable teachers to apply a range of pedagogical approaches. Also, lets make sure that there is continuity of learning from the early years so young people can grow and develop their skills and understanding over time.
