Rise of Interactive Content We agree with the premise if not the over-hype of this infographic. We see a trend to making websites more conversational, more interactive. The "one size fits all" days are gone.
In the next few years, we'll see websites capable of wrapping themselves around users like a glove. Web sites that look and feel different from one visitor to the next based on predictive analytics, behavior and creative. If this sounds like the quants and the creatives are about to take over that is what we think too.
These unlikely affinity groups - right brain engineers and left brain creatives - will need to think, act and design as one. Don't forget our favorite content creation rule - don't create your content ask for help and get others to create it for you.
Such a "community approach" to content creation is the best way we know to turn your tribe into zealous advocates. Think about it. What are you more likely to advocate your stuff or ours? Answer to that question is obvious and an indication why community is the key to future commerce online. Now that is a revolutionary infographic we'd like to see :).

Rise of Q&A Marketing One of the biggest trends we've seen in 2017 is the Rise of Q&A Marketing. It's not hard to see why either. Amazon's Echo and Google Home point to the coming Internet of Things (IOT). Once that tsunami hits Google's currency - searches fueled by questions and answers - becomes universal, ubiquitous, and demanding. New information architecture and really understanding what "responsive design" and "mobile first" really means is the least of what we'll need to understand as our content marketing and websites become crowdsourced platforms.

Scooping Flipboard We love Scoop.it and Flipboard, but both tools have problems for our content curation lately. Scoop.it isn't great on all devices. Their mobile app isn't the best.
Flipboard makes it HARD to get anything out. It's like a roach motel. Content goes in but it can't come out. Both tools have strengths including Flipboard's device agnosticism and Scoop.it's embed options.
We decided to combine Scoop.it and Flipboard into a single tool so our blog could have content we shared in Flipboard and because the hard part is finding great content sharing it one more time takes seconds.
Here's how we did it: http://www.curagami.com/scooping-flipboard-marketing-tools-mashup/

Authenticity Online How can we make our sites spontaneous feeling and collaborative even as we set every chair, table and scene? How do we defeat the web's biggest CATCH-22 - movements need following and following requires movements?
After reading a great Harvard Business Review post about the authenticity paradox in leadership we thought about the online marketing paradox. See if we successful resolve the mystery or simply add fuel to the fire: http://www.curagami.com/authenticity-paradox-online/

Social Media - Embrace The Suck Turns out marketing and war have a lot in common as this Curagami post shares. Twitter is reeling in pain and social media marketing is entering the BIG SHAKEOUT period.
Don't question, judge or cry too much. Grab you Vines, put them on YouTube and (or the best of 'em anyway) and move on. Remember nobody knows nothing and watch your ego and hubris enough to keep betting without the false belief you've found any lasting truth or repeatable pattern.
Life after Vine's death and the Big Shakeout is going to, as the Marines say, embrace the suck. Find out why on Curagami: http://www.curagami.com/social-media-death-vine/

Web Copy Writing web copy that wins hearts and minds is easier and harder than you think. Easier because tiny changes make huge differences in customer engagement and your website's ability to convert. Harder because learning to slow down and think about things like empathy, using OPW (Other People's Words) and the right way to use acronyms takes practice, discipline and courage.
Here are the tips we share on Curagami:
- Use OPW (Other People’s Words) – Trusted sources or industry gurus make excellent sources
- Use Customer Words – Customers know you listen when they see features of User Generated Content (UGC)
- Touch the Universal – R&D is hard, takes time and money is a “universal truth.”
- Cliches – Cliches are another “truth” you can turn in your favor
- Empathy Words – Use words that create a sense of empathy between YOU and whoever is reading your copy words such as “collaborate,” “teamed with” and “love.”
- Acronyms – Acronyms can convey industry knowledge, but be sure to explain fully the first time you use an acronym

Adding Good Reads Link I was so mad at Fareed Zakaria and CNN today I was about to jump off the roof. I complained to several web developer friends about how bad CNN's website for GPS, Fareed's Sunday talk show, is and they quickly added complaints of their own. Searching for a way to help I stumbled on GoodReads.com. You should stumble on this excellent social network platform too since the GoodReads.com team can teach us all a lot about web design with simplicity, elegance and intelligence. Find out more of what I mean on Medium: https://medium.com/@Curagami/fareed-zakaria-is-why-i-added-goodreads-com-25b6cab928ae#.m6qsfd851

Social Media Marketing - Oracle Gets It Do You? Oracle's white papers, linked from this Curagami post, inspired us to create an infographic. Oracle may be the biggest vendor we know of that gets the emotional, connective and conversational nature of social media marketing.
Oracle only has half the evolving world as we see it - they are still missing community and gamification. We hope it takes Oracle at least a year to catch up since they are a bellwether for everyone else.
Great reads and seeing Oracle understand this much about how social marketing really works should create a sense of urgency. If Oracle is HERE now can the world be far behind on community and then community shock in your business category?
Answer: No.
BTW, link at the bottom of the infographic goes to Oracles landing page. Our page featuring this infographic is here: http://www.curagami.com/social-media-infographic/

Blondie's New York Blondie's New York on the Smithsonian channel stinks but in a good way. If you can't smell, feel and remember NYC in the seventies while watching Blondie's band members stitch their 20-million selling Parallel Lines album together you weren't there. I was and I remember.
I remember the crime, grime and sense of hopelessness that seemed to have a choke hold on NYC. But the ART was amazing. In a tiny rat-hole of a bar named CBGB the Talking Heads, Ramones and Blondie was born, nurtured, taught and honed. The Smithsonian's documentary tells several stories simultaneously.
One story is the city's rotting corpse infecting the air and spirits with the thick fetid smell of death and dying. Yet despite or maybe because of the retching, queasy feel great art was made. Art that defined the city, the bands and us.

Are Freemiums Over We read a great post from the United Kingdom that introduced a new term. We need another xxx marketing like we need a hole in the head, but the post (linked from our Curagami riff), made sense.
See if you think so too and tell us if you think Freemiums are over as an effective B2B marketing tactic.
