It turns out he had accepted a new job and wanted to make sure he liked it before he quit his old one, recalled Tony Pannagl, managing partner of IS&T, an information technology staffing firm in Houston. He never even told his boss, leaving that responsibility to his peers who asked him why he was boxing up his photos and coffee mugs.
