Haiti is an area that is 'prone' to frequent natural disasters as it sits between two major tectonic plates. This article emphasizes the different problems the country is facing besides the earthquake that not only killed hundreds of people but also destroyed houses, schools, hotels, etc. They are also facing a challenge on the Covid front as they barely received vaccines a month before the earthquake. What stood out to me in the article that I did not initiating think about were the aftershocks. Claude Prepetit is a civil engineer and geologist that stated that these aftershocks will continue on for about a month, which can result in further damage of buildings.
