Wow, this is insane. If this can get to the point where they can release it in places like the pacific garbage patch it would be very beneficial.

I love to hear things like this because I plastic is so ubiquitous and enduring. I wonder how they would implement it, though, without the chance of it getting out of control and, say, eating the plastic stuff that we still need. Granted, if that happened, we would have to quickly switch to plastic alternatives...which may not be a bad thing.

I agree with both Tess and Quinn, this is some great stuff. Like Tess was saying though, a lot of times there are unintended consequences. I think if we were to collect this plastic and put it in a secure location and then treat it with the enzyme , that may produce better results in a controlled environment.
