NYC Scouts perform service for Central Park
Troop 729 in Washington Heights performed service in Central Park’s North Woods yesterday, removing the invasive Japanese Knotweed plant from a designated area.. To help insure that the plants would not grow back, the Scouts then gathered and spread seeds from nearby, ecosystem-friendly, Virginia Knotweed plants. Contact Dave.Swartz@Scouting.org

From note I received about Camp Alpine Ranger Staff
"I wanted to send you a note letting you know how grateful the Northeast Region Order of the Arrow team is for the service and dedication of Wally Cary at Alpine. Wally and his team (all the Rangers) did an outstanding job during the weekend of September...taking care of the region’s Order of the Arrow leadership. We had asked for a special event as part of that weekend’s events so that we could recognize... and they made it special..."
