Congratulations, UB Black Jaguars! The male team took 1st place, and the female team took 2nd place at the ATLIB Volleyball Finals.
"Male Black Jaguars are the ATLIB Volleyball Champions 2017. The Lady Black Jaguars are the ATLIB Sub Champions.
The ATLIB Volleyball Nationals was held October 28th 2017. The University of Belize won the male competition and the females came in second. The Black Jaguars won their opening match against the home court favorite Saint John's Junior College easily by the score 25-21 and 25-17. Next they defeated Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College 23-25, 25-13 and 15-8. This game had to be decided in 3 sets as the Black Jaguars' rookies were unable to win the first set.
The Lady Black Jaguars also advanced to the finals by defeating Ecumenical Junior College 25-13 and 25-16. In the finals, despite losing the first set 19-25 our Lady Black Jaguars fought back from 8 down to win the second set 25-23. The thrilling third set saw our Lady Black Jaguars fall short 13-15.

The Galen Eagles won the ATLIB regionals on Friday. They defeated the SHJC Scorpions, and now advance to the finals, which will be next Saturday at the UB Gym. Go, Eagles!
"Our Galen Eagles went head to head on Friday Nov. 18 at the SHC Auditorium against the SHJC Scorpions where the match ended in a 64-44 point game. The Regional ATLIB Tournament has concluded and now we're off to the National Championships to defend our title on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the UB Gymnasium. See you there! Let's gooooooooooooooo Eagles!"

ATLIB had their 2016 Professional Development Sessions last week, where most of the country's tertiary level professors met to learn everything from technology in the classroom to grant writing to statistics. Sacred Heart Junior College, Belize hosted the event. Minister Faber was there to kick off the learning, and he gave a great speech about quality and the need to strive for that goal in the field of education.

The ATLIB Football Tournament is today starting at 3:00pm, and tomorrow, starting at 9:00am. "The ATLIB finals will be held April 26, and 27, 2014 and will be hosted by SHJC and will take place in San Ignacio at the Norman Broaster Stadium on April 26 and 27, 2014. A big congratulations to the University of Belize's Lady Black Jaguars for winning the ATLIB football championship! They traveled to the Corozal district to play at Escuela Mexico on Sunday, and they brought back the 1st place trophy.
"UB Lady Black Jaguars are the new ATLIB Football Champions after defeating Belize Adventist Junior College (BAJC), and Independence Junior College (IJC) on Sunday, April 14, 2013. The first game was against BAJC which ended in a 1-1 tie during regular time which meant the victory was going to be decided at the penalty shots. UB’s able goal keeper Idania Ramirez, stopped three penalties, and UB classified to the championship game. In the final game of the day UB scored the only goal of the game, Rosaria Cal was the striker of that decisive goal."

The Sacred Heart Junior College Football team won at the ATLIB regionals in Dangriga over the weekend. They'll go to finals on April 14th, which will be held at the Escuela Mexico campus. Congratulations, SHJC!
"SHJC's male and female teams participated in this year's ATLIB Football tournaments. The female team did a great job at representing SHJC but were unable to secure a spot to advance to Nationals. Our male team played against Independence JC and won 2-0. Their second game was against UB's male football team. The game was a really tight one. SHJC scored a goal in the first half and UB scored 2 goals thereafter. The goal to tie the game came in from SHJC the minute before the game ended. The teams then went on to play an extra 10 minutes then to penalties. The final score for penalties was SHJC 6 - UB 5. SHJC qualified for Natioanls to be held at Escuela Mexico on April 14, 2013. We're proud of both our teams! Job well done guys!"

The ATLIB basketball regionals have been moved to the University of Belize's Jaguar Auditorium tomorrow due to the weather.
"Please be informed that the venue has been changed for the ATLIB Basketball Tournament due to weather conditions. It will now be held at UB's GYM IN BELMOPAN; opening ceremony starts at 8:30 am being led by the Galen Eagles band."

The 2017 ATLIB Basketball Regionals have kicked off, and the SHJC Scorpions are hosting the Galen Eagles this Friday at the SHJC auditorium.

The Association for Tertiary Learning in Belize had their annual Professional Development training, where almost every tertiary level professor, and the support staffs, meet to learn to be better instructors. This year, it was in Corozal, at Corozal Junior College, and the focus was Quality Assurance. Looks like they had a fun time while learning to be better teachers.

The 3 Cayo schools dominated at the ATLIB Volleyball Regional tournament last week. Congratulations to UB and SHJC for taking 1st and 2nd place in both the men's and women's categories. They'll be going to San Pedro this weekend to play at the ATLIB National Volleyball Tournament. Thanks to Galen University for the pictures. Congratulations to the UB Lady Black Jaguars for their three-peat win at the ATLIB National Football finals! They travelled up to Corozal, and won the tournament with an 8 - 0 shutout. "For the third consecutive year, our Lady Black Jaguars have retained the championship at the ATLIB National Football Tournament. After qualifying to the nationals in the regional tournament, our female team made their way to Santa Clara village, Corozal District on March 21, 2015 to face the hosting school: Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College (CEMJC). Our team was able to subdue CEMJC with a resounding victory of 8-0 with goals from Delmi Cornelio, Delmi Hernandez, Rosaria Cal, Esther Cal, Albertha Garcia, Tiffany Gonzalez, Emmerlyn Nunez and Daniela Vargas."

Congratulations to the UB Lady Jaguars for winning the ATLIB Basketball championship! The UB male team took second place. "The ATLIB Basketball nationals was held on Friday, February 21, 2014 and our Black Jaguars went to represent the University after qualifying in the Regionals. UB Lady Black Jaguars first faced Belize Adventist Junior College and secured a win. The championship game was between UB Lady Black Jaguars and Stann Creek Ecumenical Junior College (SCEJC). Our team subdued SCEJC and became the new ATLIB champions. The males defeated Wesley Junior College in their first game but unfortunately lost to Galen University in the final game of the day. UB Black Jaguars earned second place in the tournament. Congratulations to our athletes for representing the university well."

Sacred Heart Junior College and the University of Belize will have their first football matches at Broaster Stadium. The female teams start at 3:00pm, and the male teams start at 4:30pm. Everyone is invited to cheer them on. "SHJC vs. UB Female Football Team (3:00 - 4:30 p.m) and SHJC vs. UB Male Football Team (4:30-6:00p.m.) at the Norman Broaster Stadium. "UB Black Jaguars Male and Female Softball Teams are the new ATLIB Softball Champions after defeating Ecumenical Junior College (EJC) and Independence Junior College (IJC) on October 5, at the Governor General Field, Belmopan. The females beat EJC by a landslide 16-1 in the final game, and defeated IJC with a score of 8 to 2. Sharine Reyes was named Most Valuable Player. In related news, Males triumphed against IJC scoring 15-7 and edged out EJC 8 to 7 The MVP was no other than Nick Chung. The Recreation and Sports Department thanks all those who supported the females and congratulates the UB Black Jaguars Softball team. Congratulations UB Black Jaguar Softball Teams!"
