The Rotary Club of San Ignacio has been busy lately.  Not only did they bring the flash mobs to Cayo, but they are having their annual Voice of the West Elocution Competition at 6:30pm this Thursday at Hode's. 


"We are getting ready for the Voice of the West competition for the high school students in Cayo, 42 students to be exact.  I found out this event was a staple on Sept 10 back in the day, until the Independence Day celebrations became more about the politicians than the people.  Join us at Hode's, 6:30 this Thursday night.  Voice of the West rocks!"

The Belize Zoo is having their annual Conservation Camp from August 4th through the 8th, and they are accepting applications.

"Young Belizeans (ages 12-17 years old) are invited to join the Belize Zoo Education Team on a journey into nature through wildlife experiences, field trips, group activities, and role-play. For 30 years, “Zoo Camp” has been dedicated to inspiring and empowering Belizean youth to safeguard our natural heritage."

Crazy Tails Cat Kingdom is having their online auction starting this Friday the 20th. It'll end on Sunday the 22nd at 5pm. They have scores of great items, and all the proceeds go towards their spay and neuter clinics.

Elibel has set up a dispensing machine on George Price avenue in Santa Elena.  You can reuse your plastic detergent bottles instead of throwing them away.  It works with dollars and shillings.  They have a wide selection of detergents, fabric softeners, and even bleach.  Happy World Environment Day!
