Saint Martin's Credit Union had their inaugural celebration for their new branch in Benque Viejo. The National Channel captured it all on video. The Benque Marimba Youth Academy performed, and played the national anthem. Credit unions are the way to invest, as they help the community.

There will be a fundraiser for the Benque Marimba Youths this Saturday, at Benque's Coronation Park. There will be live marimba music, of course. Show your support and have a great time doing it.

The Benque House of Culture is having a Summer Camp where kids can learn how to play the marimba. The Benque Youth Marimba Academy plays all over the country, and they are amazing to see live. Contact the Benque HoC at 823-2697 for more information.

The 2016 Belize International Jazz Festival will have the opening concert at the Cayo Welcome Center. The line up is impressive: The World Culture Band, Ascenthium, Benque Marimba Youth Academy, Panerrifx, and the Benque Marching Band, along with many others. The opening will be on Sunday, August 14th, starting at 4:00pm.
