BAVIA Announces Animated Competition Winners

BAVIA Announces Animated Competition Winners | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

The Belize Audio Visual Industry Association has announced the winners of the animated film competition.  Channel 5 interviews some winners.  Congratulations!

"The International Film Festival kicked off over the weekend; sixty-seven films will be featured this year.  This morning, as part of the festival, an audio visual symposium was held at the House of Culture in Belize City.  The event, hosted by The Belize Audio Visual Industry Association (BAVIA) was to discuss the art and business of animation.  It featured local panelists from the film industry as well as a presenter from Trinidad, who participated via the internet.  One highlight of the symposium was the announcement of the winners of BAVIA’s annual “Show Me” film Competition, which this year was for animated videos."

Belize International Film Festival Trailer

The Belize Film Festival has released a video with clips from 25 of this year's movies that will be presented.  Kurse a di Xtabai, which was filmed all around Cayo, and features many Cayo locals and students, has quite a few clips in it.  Island Films did a great job on this one!

Belize Film Festival moving to Cayo

Belize Film Festival moving to Cayo | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

NICH is eyeing Cayo for the Belize Film Festival.  Cahal Pech might be the new location from now on.  Makes sense to have it in the prettiest part of the country.
