Belize Facebook Population Infographic

Belize Facebook Population Infographic | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

Here's a cool infographic about the Belizean facebookers, courtesy of iBelmopan.  The numbers have gone up half as many percent as the value of fb has gone down in the stock market.

In related news, a few months ago, Google Plus became the social media with the second highest active users, surpassing Twitter.  If nothing else, it's good to have both since you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket.

"As you may notice, this year compared to last year, the number of Facebook users has increased by 23% (making a total of 81,560 real users) as shown in the infographic below.  That means that 25.93% of the total population of Belize has a Facebook account.  Wow!  Out of the 81,560 users 49% (39,964) are males and 51% (41,596) are females.  Those averages didn't change compared to last year."

Cayo's Independence Day Parade pictures

Some great pictures from the Independence Day parade here in Cayo.

"The Independence parade in Cayo, this year, was one to remember forever. The theme 'Many Faces, Many Dreams, One Goal' was beautifully displayed with tons of colors and dances by the parade presenters.  From Chinese dragons to clowns, the streets were filled with people jumping up and down celebrating the 31st anniversary of Belize independence.  I even saw a very old woman, perhaps 70 years old, dancing to local punta music--How awesome is that?"

Infographic for FB use in Belize.

"The number 66,260 means that 21.07% of the people living in Belize have at least one Facebook account. That number may appear to be low but compared to how much people accessed the internet in Belize in 2010, it is extremely high. According to the 2010 Population & Housing Census of Belize, 73, 575 people used the internet in that respective year. Now if we compare that amount to the number of Facebook users that exist in Belize it is impressive. More than 90% of those internet users have a Facebook account."

Belize Economic Statistics Infograph

IBelmopan has made another interesting infograph, entitled 'Belize Key Economic Statistics 2012' from the numbers compiled by the Statistical Institute of Belize.  Good news: Belize's GDP is up 5.3%.  Hoping they upload a high-def version soon.

DATA VISUALIZATION: it is a lot of useful information, however if you do not know specifically what you are looking for it is not very useful to the reader. It would just be a lot of empty data that requires a lot of effort to analyze and find relationships.
