Chaa Creek Inland Expeditions is going to start offering day trips to Chaa Creek for hiking, exploring, canoeing, riding, and cycling. They all come with lunch, transportation, guides, and complimentary canoes. They start running on Monday.
In related news, the Guava Limb Café is the new hot spot for lunch in Cayo. Pictures of their food will be coming soon.

Barton Creek Cave gets another great write up, this time in escapingabroad.com. They uploaded a cool video of entering the cave too.
"We were suited up with safety helmets, lights and life jackets and began are journey into the darkness. This cave is considered one of the largest in the world, estimated to be over 4 and a half miles long and in some places 100 feet tall. It is also filled with a rich and mysterious history as it was used by the Mayans who believed caves to be entrances into the ‘underworld.’ Evidence of Mayan use was left behind in artifacts and the remains of at least 28 discovered bodies inside."

La Ruta Maya is only 3 days away. Belikin put together a teaser from last year's LRM start. There are some good camera angles from the canoes themselves.

Queen Elizabeth II christened the QE2 in 1967 with a bottle of champagne. When Prince Harry christened the Jubilee last week, named in honour of his grandmother’s Diamond Jubilee, or 60th anniversary of occupying the throne, he used a bottle of beer, according to the canoe’s builder, Chaa Creek owner Mick Fleming.
But the beer was Beliken, the country is Belize, and the Jubilee is a canoe, so it was perfectly fitting."
