Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture

The promo video for the upcoming West Fest is out, courtesy of Belizing.com.  The proceeds will go towards acquiring resources for the SISE police department.  The first of many West Fests will be on September 15th, at the Macal River Park.  They have an incredible amount of raffle prizes.

"We are proud to be hosting the first ever West Fest on September 15, 2018. All proceeds will be used to purchase resources for the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Police Department, in hopes of improving the quality of safety in our community. Experience 3000 years of food, culture, and history of Cayo in one peaceful setting, the Macal River Park. Come out and support this eco-friendly and family-friendly event. There will be a grand raffle with prizes worth up to $60,000! Mark your calendars for West Fest 2018 on September 15. It will be the biggest event happening in San Ignacio Town."

Tonight, at Midas Resort, the SISE House of Culture will be showing 'One Day On Earth' in celebration of Earth Day.  Belize will be shown in the movie.  It's the first movie ever to be shot in every country on Earth on the same day.  Don't miss it.  Midas is the perfect spot for it.  Enjoy your Earth Day!

The SISE House of Culture unveiled their Heroes and Benefactors Exhibit today.  There was a large crowd to enjoy the kick off festivities and food.  Here are some pictures of the event.  If you missed it, never fear, the exhibit is running through the month of March.

Looks like Monday will be a great time at SISE's House of Culture.  Come out to find out more about Belize's 2 national heroes and the other 'unsung' herors who have helped make Belize the jewel it is.

Quite the turnout for the festival.

The San Ignacio House of Culture is calling for local Cayo artists to participate in the Cayo Art Collection.  The deadline for registration is the 16th of August, and the dates of the exhibit are from August 23rd until September 6th.  You can contact them at sisehoc@nichbelize.org, or at 824-0783.

The SISE House of Culture will be screening the movie One Day On Earth for free, on Earth Day, at 7:00pm, at Midas Resort.

"Watch this unique film created from over 3000 hours of footage, and shot in every country of the world on October 10th 2010.  Together, they created a picture of interconnected humanity never before possible."
