The MSBC is planning the 11th annual NRM Symposium, and they are doing a call for abstracts.  The deadline is January 30th, and the symposium will take place on March 1st and 2nd.  They have a registration form online.

"CALLING ALL SCIENTISTS AND NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGERS! Yes folks, we are proud to announce the 11th Natural Resource Management and Research Symposium - 2018. This is the foremost forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge between scientists, managers and students who all play such a critical role in the protection and sustainable use of Belize's precious and world famous natural resources.

The 10th annual Natural Resource Management and Research Symposium is approaching, and they are doing a call for abstracts.  The deadline for submission is February 24th.  

"The Mesoamerican Society for Biology and Conservation-Belize Chapter (MSBC) in partnership with the Ya’axché Conservation Trust (Ya’axché) and the Global Trees Campaign (GTC) are organizing the 10th installment of the annual natural resource management and research symposium under the theme “Science Based Management for the Sustainable Use and Conservation of Belize’s Natural Resources”. This year’s symposium is an effort to maximize the impact of knowledge sharing by combining the 2nd Global Trees Symposium and the 10th NRM symposium. The Global Trees Symposium is an effort to highlight the importance of rare and threatened tree species and the management practices that can ensure the survival of these species in the long term.

The 10th annual Natural Resource Management and Research Symposium welcomes abstracts for both oral presentations and posters discussing research, case studies, lessons learnt, and practical applications related to natural resources management and research in Belize."

The Belize Wildlife Referral Clinic and the Mesoamerican Society for Biology and Conservation are having their 6th annual NRM Symposium today at the University of Belize today and tomorrow.  The theme is Conservation throuth Cooperation: Practical Approaches for the Management of Natural Resources.

The 10th annual Natural Resource Management and Research Symposium is next Thursday and Friday, at the UB campus.  It's not too late to register.

Pictures from the 6th annual NRM Symposium, hosted at the University of Belize.  The MSBC, BWCN, and ERI had a great gathering, and the reports from the event said that everything went great.

"The theme of the two-day symposium was 'Conservation through Cooperation: Practical Approaches for the Management of Natural Resources in Belize.' It was designed to bring together researchers, managers, students, government agencies, and NGOs engaged in natural resource management in Belize, to share their findings and evaluate the status of resource management in the country."
