Monica Gallardo has released some incredible pictures from her photoshoot at the Belize Zoo.  Miss Belize, Destinee Arnold is in some of them, as are some newlyweds.  You get a good behind the scenes look of the photoshoot, and get to see some of the animals at the zoo, including Lucky Boy.  Joris Hendrik designed the dress that Destinee wore.  Great shots, Monica!

Belize is represented well in Suriname at Carifesta XI.  The Institute of Creative Arts has some good pictures up, and the Belize National Dance Company has some great videos up too.  Have fun, everyone!

"We've been highlighting our talented Jaguars and all our sports teams this week making us proud in sports arena but we've also got a delegation of Belizeans showcasing our artistic side in Paramaribo, Suriname. This talented group left the country last Wednesday, August 14th and they are representing our beautiful country well!

The Galen Eagles Band played at the Thalia theatre during Carifesta XI in Suriname.  Joris Hendrik was there to get the video of some of their great performance.  In related news, Joris Hendrik got to show off his designs last night.

The Galen Eagles Band, along with the Belize National Dance Company, and Joris Hendrik, have arrived in Suriname to represent Belize at Carifesta IX.

In related news, the Galen Eagles Band has submitted a video to the Belize Celebrations video competition on fb, entitled Proud of My Belize, which was written by Shannelly Sutherland, and it will be performed at Carifesta.

Cayo was represented well during the Belize Fashion Week out on Ambergris Caye.  Ambergris Today was there to capture some of the show.  They have a 40 minute video they've posted to their site, along with 100's of pictures.  You can see Joris Hendrik, Gabriela Barerra, and their models showing off their designs on the catwalk.

"With the success of Belize Fashion week, it is evident that it will open new doors for Belize designers and models and help prepare them to represent Belize.  It will also place Belize in the fashion spotlight and create new opportunities in the industry and quite possibly overflow in the tourism industry by attracting more visitors to the country during future events.  And the bottom line is that we have solidified the fact that Belize has fantastic talent in the fashion industry and Belize Fashion Week is a great engine that will help put Belizean fashion designers and models on the global map."

Beltraide had the awards ceremony for their Entrepreneurship Project, and you can see a the Cayo is represented well.  Beltraide and its bright staff worked with CENPROMYPE on this project, and they awarded $252,000 to 18 Entrepreneurs, including Joris Hendrik and Matthiew Klinck.  SBDC Belize, a branch of Beltraide, just celebrated one year of greatness.  Thanks, and Congratulations, Beltraide!

Joris Hendrik represented Belize at the Grandeur Fashion Show at Carifesta XI in Suriname.  Tanya Carter will be performing, and she'll be wearing his designs.  Well done, Joris!

Cayo was well represented at the Belize Fashion Week in San Pedro.  Joris Hendrik and Gabriela Berrera, with her Add!ction line,  were there to show off their designs.  Jose Luis Zapata was on hand capturing the magic of the catwalk.  And is it just a coincidence that the catwalk is in the shape of a 'J' as in Joris?
