Sacred Heart Junior College awarded 2 San Ignacio police, WPC Standford and PC Reid, scholarships for their Associates degrees.  The scholarships come out of the new partnership between the Community Policing Team and SHJC.  Education is the key.

 

"Two officers from the San Ignacio Police Formation WPC Standford and PC Reid were recipients of a full scholarship sponsored by Sacred Heart Junior college to attend that prestigious institution.

 

Special thanks to the Director, Assistant Dean and Cpl Jones and his Community Policing team for initiating this partnership."

Community Youth Awareness Seminars

The San Ignacio Police, along with representatives of the Department of Human Services paid some visits to local primary schools, including La Gracia government school and Bishop O.P. Martin primary school, to talk about the law and youth rights.  G.R.E.A.T. work, officers!

 

In related news, PC Jason Jones was recently awarded the Paul Harris Fellow award, along with Jackie Jones(no relation), for outstanding service to the community.  Congratulations to both for the well deserved awards!

The Falcon Field Neighborhood Watch, Cayo's newest neighborhood watch, is having thier first meeting tonight.  Together, we stand!

 

"Falcon Field - New Neighborhood Watch Committee forming! First mtg tonight!

The newly forming Falcon Field neighborhood watch will have its first gathering on Monday 25th Feb at 7:30 at the Bejos home (across from Latino Mix). Please repost for those living in this neighborhood (2-4 blocks in all directions around the park). All are welcome to support us. P.C. Jones will be presenting."

The Ride Against Crime went very well, Saturday morning.  This is going to be a monthly activity, so the police and the community of Cayo can come together to end crime.  Thanks to everyone, civilians, and police officers, that made this happen

 

"We at the office would like to thank all persons who participated on saturday's ride aganist crime.  The police and the community riding for a great cause. We had atotal of 24 riders, including Officer CommandingOfficer Commanding Community Policing Sr, Supt.Willis, Supt. Moody, Deputy OC Insp. Reymundo Reyes, Sgt Victorin, Sgt Neal, Cpl Valencia, Officers of the community policing San Ignacio Cpl Emil Bradley,PC Jason Jones, PC Roland Augustine, PC Cireaco Medina WPC Reynolds , also several neighbourhood watch committies sent riders,  Special thanks to Mr Marcel Bedran, Ernie Braun, Michael Cyphers and the Cayo neighbourhood watch assocaition for assisting with bikes and t-shirts.  Thanks to Mr Mick Fleming, Bryony Fleming and Chaa Creek.  We are planning it as a monthly ride different locations, its not a race just.  The police and community comming together."

The Ride Against Crime is a great idea to raise awareness, however..is it gong to "end crime"?
