Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture

Video of the day.  Excellent little video from a Belize vacation.  The mixing is unique.  Cayo is in there, as is Cahal Pech, Rio On Pools, and Caracol.  Definitely worth a watch. 

"This is a small attempt at capturing a recent trip to Belize.  I went with a Gopro and a Olympus Tough camera and came back with just enough footage to put this together.  As you'll see I experienced an abundance of love and friendship with some amazing people, and got into some fun trouble and saw some amazing things."

Video of the day.  Great GoPro video of a trip around Belize.  The time lapse photography at Caracol is done well.  The first half of the video is Cayo, and you'll see plenty of familiar sights.  The Hawkesworth Bridge is on there, and Rio On Pools, along with Caves Branch, and the Waterfall Cave. 

"We tackled the muddy roads, steep stairs, deep caves, and coral reefs of San Ignacio, Caracol, Caves Branch, Caye Caulker, and Ambergris Caye."

The Weekend Warriors part of the King of the Hills bicycle race was videoed with a GoPro.  They shortened it to just a few minutes, and it came out great.  Definitely worth a watch, if nothing more than the view of the streets of downtown Cayo from the middle of the street as bikers move all around.

 

"We got a couple GoPro's hooked up on the bikes to get some footage of the Weekend Warriors Race.  Here is some of it.  We didn't get the entire race because of some hardware issues."

Astrum Helicopters has a great video of the 85th Cross Country Cycling Classic...from the air! Great video, and they have 'Children' by Robert Miles as the music. Well done, Astrum!

"The Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic, is a one-day amateur cycling race held in Belize every year during the Easter holidays. It is Belize's biggest cycling event and has begun to be recognized internationally. The estimated distance of the Classic is some 140 miles. Wow!  Incredible!  Xunantunich gets top billing in this amazing video that was taken using GoPro octocoptor drones.  Team Sky Cam Guatemala did a spectacular job filming and editing.  A great touch is how the video ends with San Ignacio from high up.  They got some high quality stills too.

The Makita Motocross Championship was this weekend in Spanish Lookout, and they got an exhilarating video with a helmet mounted GoPro camera.  Congratulations, Carlos Lopez, for winning the race.

"2 Heat for MX 2.  This is the helmet cam on Marlon Dueck.  He was competing against four other riders.  Carlos Lopez, Carl Froese. Nathan Thiessen, and Shawn Krahn.  Marlon wiped out in the mud bog in the 1st heat and tore out his shoulder.  He fought hard against Carlos Lopez, but ultimately Carlos did take First Place."
