Entertainment news of the week.  Senior Steps is having their 5th annual Senior Steps Variety Show this Sunday, March 29th, at the GPC.  The entrance is free, and it's always entertaining.  Thanks, Senior Steps.

In related news, the GPC is offering Quickbooks classes next week, and every Friday this month they are showing movies on the life of Peace Pilgrim.  The Cayo Coca Cola Spelling Bee will take place there on the 20th.  They are also having a Kite Contest next month.

The were a record number of Summer camps this year.  The Senior Steps dance troupe had one, and they held it at the George Price Centre.

Seth Montfort is returning to the George Price Center for 2 more of his 'Made for Belize' concerts.  He'll be there Monday, June 2nd, and Tuesday, June 3rd.  Seth's been playing around Belize for years, and he's a very talented pianist.  Definitely worth seeing if you have the time.

The Senior Steps Variety Show is tonight at the George Price Centre.  The festivities start at 5:00pm, and it's free.  They'll do some dances, read some poetry, and perform some sketches.  

Garifuna Settlement Day is Tuesday, and tonight the George Price Centre is the stage for the Joseph Chotoyer Garifuna Folkloric Ballet.  They've travelled all the way from New York to perform around Belize.  The GPC has a lot of events coming up, including a new exhibit.

The Department of Youth Services is having an Open Mic Night at the George Price Centre tomorrow night to celebrate National Youth Week.  They'll have cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.  It goes from 6:00pm until 9:00pm, and entry is free.

The Rotary Club of Belmopan is having their annual Wine and Cheese party fundraiser tomorrow night at the George Price Centre.  They'll have their famous silent auction, and raffles and plenty of suprises.  This will help fund their Belize Children's Project, which helps get treatment for children with osteopathic diseases, greatly improving their quality of life.  Thanks, Rotary!

The George Price Centre is having a Conference for Life tomorrow, starting at 9:00am, and all females ages 10 and over are invited.  The United Christian Women's Alliance Belize is organizing the event, and it includes food and snacks.  For more information, email wallbelize@outlook.com.

The Kulcha Xchange concert is tomorrow night at the George Price Centre, starting at 6:30pm.  Youth Voices will be there, along with other Belmopan artists.

The Arlo Music School is having a Mother's Day concert tomorrow night, May 13th, at the George Price Centre.  They'll be playing everything from classical to contemporary, including Broadway songs from Les Miserables, Cats, and West Side Story, along with jazz songs from Billie Holliday and Nathalie Cole  The concert starts at 6:30pm.

Oceana had their Wavemaker AGM in Belmopan at the GPC.  Thanks, Oceana!  Say no to drilling on the reef!

"Belizeans from across the country gathered in Belmopan on Saturday, October 24th to participate in the annual general meeting of Oceana Belize's members, known as Wavemakers.  Oceana Belize established offices in Belize in 2009. Today, the organization's largest campaign is to advocate for the protection of Belize's marine resources from the inherent hazards of offshore oil activities."

Seth Montfort will be performing his 'Made for Belize' concert again this Wednesday at the GPC.  Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet. 

The George Price Centre is working with the Belize Unity Institute for Leadership and Development, and will be hosting an information session on BUILD's educational opportunities on Saturday, August 9th, starting at 10am.  The focus of BUILD is Economics and Sustainable Development, which are always useful in Belize.

If you want to learn about MS Project or Quickbooks, then you might want to check out the computer classes they'll be having at the George Price Centre this month.  Project classes are Friday and Saturday, with more next week.  Quickbooks starts on Monday the 23rd.   

Feelgood news of the day.  The Combat Team awarded orange belts to many of their students.  They departed Belize yesterday, but after visiting many schools around Cayo(BCS), and having an exhibition at the GPC, they left an inspiration of God and an understanding of karate in their wake.  Godspeed, and thank you, Combat Team!  

"All the kids tested for their belts last night and our instructor.  The kids were so excited to received their Orange Advanced belts!  Great things are happening at our Belize Karate School!"

Seth Montfort, the award winning pianist, is back in Belize, and he's doing a concert at the George Price Centre tomorrow evening.  The show was made for Belize, and will start at 6:00pm.

The Belmopan International Women's Group is having their yearly fundraiser tomorrow night at the George Price Centre.  The theme is 'White Havana Nights,' and they'll be serving traditional Cuban food, and will have Carlos Perrote playing for the event.  As always, they'll have a silent auction and many door prizes.

Bethany Ann will be having an CD release party for her 'No Hands' album this Saturday, August 24th, at the George Price Centre starting at 6:00pm.  Get a signed copy of her CD.  The after party will be at the YMAM Destiny House.

The George Price Centre is having a health lecture today from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.  It's free, and will cover various pain and first aid issues.

Morgan's Computer Services are offering computer classes at the George Price Centre.  They'll teach Quickbooks, Excel, MS Project, Access, Powerpoint, and Word.  Classes will be over the next month, with one starting tomorrow.
