Feelgood news of the day. The NTHU student group spent the week at Buena Vista primary school, along with some volunteers from Sacred Heart Junior College, to teach the kids about computers. They have a great slide show, with some movie clips in it.

Cool news of the day. Belize Natural Energy's Fire Unit went to Buena Vista primary school to assist with their fire drill. They spoke to the students, and showed how their equipment works and stops fires. Thanks, BNE, for making their day!

For the September Celebrations, in honor of George Price, Wednesday, September 19th is National Service Day. There are quite a few events planned around Cayo. There will also be a cadlelight vigil in the evening at the Sacred Heart Church. What do you have planned for National Service Day?

Feelgood news of the day. The ROWKIDS have been really busy this week with the medical clinics they've been having around Cayo. They've brought doctors and nurses to do checkups at Buena Vista primary school, San Antonio, and Billy White, where they got a lot of great pictures of the event. At the same time, they've been having basketball sports camps to keep the kids entertained while showing them some new skills. Thanks, ROWKIDS, for making a difference around Cayo!
"Awesome day in Belize today the ROWKIDS Medical Team set up their clinic today at the Buena Vista Primary School. Where nursing students from the College of the Ozarks along with the 2 doctors from Hilton Head SC and other team members from Bluffton SC, treated 153 patients today. As two nursing student and the nursing director from C of O served at the the local hospital. And the C of O Basketball coach and 2 members of the basketball team held sports camp and shared the love of Jesus with the students. An awesome day with an awesome team!!!!"

World Tapir Day was this weekend, and the Belize Zoo crowned April the Tapir - ceremonially they crowned her paper mache double - as the new Miss Belize in honor of her 30th birthday. The yearly event at the zoo was attended by 100's of students from around Belize, and the ceremonial crowning was done by four students from the Buena Vista school in Spanish Lookout. April is the oldest living tapir in a zoo, already having outlived her life expectantcy by 5 years, in the world. Happy birthday, April!
