BHS Spay/Neuter Clinic

BHS Spay/Neuter Clinic | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

The Belmopan Humane Society had another spay and neuter clinic, and are trying to have them every month, on the second Sunday.  San Ignacio is due for another round of clinics too, courtesy of the BWRC.

"Another successful clinic.  A long day, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.  We did 12 dogs, 2 cats, 1 emergency treatment, several checkups, a bunch of vaccinations.  Thanks to the great team of Dr. Baptist, his assistant Joseph from Hopkins Humane Society, BHS volunteers, Mike Bracewell, Nildy Olmedo, Sonia Neal, Dewey Morison.  We try to hold a clinic every second sunday of the month."

This is amazing! The fact the BHS is taking the initiative and organizing spay and neuter clinics is genius. Working within the community and building trust with pet parents is important, and that BHS has a gold star.

Volunteers make this happen, without them Non-profit organizations would be in trouble. A big shout out to all the volunteers who help keep our animals and those animals who need guidance in proper health for their amazing work!

BHS Open House Pictures

The Belmopan Humane Society had their open house this weekend to celebrate 12 years of operation.  They had some happy people, and pets.

"Saturday, April 20, BHS hosted an 'Open House' to celebrate 12 years of helping animals, the people that surround them, the creation of a wonderful Resource Center and the beginning stages of a Community Animal Health Care clinic.  Behind the Scenes supporters donated toward the printing of over 1,000 revised BHS brochures, as many invitations, and all the color photos for our many displays.  This allowed us to place brochures and invitations in the 695 PO boxes in Belmopan.  Hundreds of flyers were spread through the city along with ads on Love FM, Channel 5 bulletin board and CCV cable TV.  Emails and text invitations to the many people that BHS has helped in one way or another were sent."

BHS Blues Revue Fundraiser

BHS Blues Revue Fundraiser | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

The Belmopan Humane Society had their big Blues Revue fundraiser, and it was a huge success.  'Feed the Dog Band.'  Great name.

"Well over 180 people were rockin and dancing to tunes of the past and recordings never heard before.  Thanks goes to Steve Hack our MC who kept us informed as to what was happening.  Kerby Sutherland kept the sound and mixing perfect.  I sincerely hope we can bring these great people together for a future event.  A huge thank you to you all for your contribution."

This is perfect! The BHS has the right idea on how to draw people into their cause. Creating fundraisers is a fantastic way to reach out to your fellow pet parents, while creating a foundation for loyalty towards  the HS International.
