The Belmopan Active Youths are having the grand opening of the BAY Lounge on Thursday, January 14th, from noon to 10:00pm.  Congratulations, BAY!

"BAY invites you to the grand opening on January 14th 12pm-10pm to one of the first social enterprise in Belmopan, our BAY LOUNGE!  This is a huge milestone for our organization and we very much hope that you will attend!  We are grateful to all our partners and volunteers that have contributed in any way to make this possible!  Special thanks to the US Embassy through their support under the BAY Job Creation and Entrepreneurship Development Project, the Belmopan City Council, YWCA for training in the culinary arts, our BAY Lounge Committee for their countless hours in planning and execution, the BAY Members/volunteers and our many other partners!"

Belmopan had their big Clean Up Campaign yesterday.  Lots of volunteers came out to help with the beautification of Belmopan.  Well done!

Belmopan Active Youths had their first graduating class from their Job Creation and Entrepreneurship Development project.  Congratulations, Graduates!

"Nothing makes us quite as proud as EMPOWERING our youths.  We were thrilled to see 27 youths graduate from two programs under our BAY Job Creation and Entrepreneurship Development (JCED) Project on Sunday, March 29th...  Our first graduation under our new project, this one makes us super proud. Congratulations to our 27 graduates!"

Tonight is the start of the BAY basketball tournament playoffs.  They really have some great team names.  Next weekend is the finals.

The Belmopan Active Youths are having their 'Cruise on the BAY' fundraiser on Valentine's weekend.  They'll have Panerrifix and DJ Karizma there for entertainment.  The boat leaves at 6:00pm from Old Belize.  Call 602-4812 for more information.

The Belmopan Active Youth group received $100,000 from the US Embassy for drug prevention around Belmopan.  45 youth leaders will be trained with the funds.  Sports competitions, aimed at giving kids better things to do, will also be funded with the money.  They'll also refurb and classify 6 city parks as drug free zones.  Great work, BAY!

Belize Natural Energy had their Health and Safety Fair.  They had quite the line up of participants.

The CARICOM Marathon in Belmopan went well, and the proceeds raised went to BAY.  Happy CARICOM Week!

The Belmopan Active Youths have a new website, and it looks good.  You can read all about what they do, and even volunteer to be part of their amazing team.  Thanks, BAY for doing all you've done for the youths.  

"With a mission to EDUCATE, ENGAGE and EMPOWER the youths of Belmopan and its surrounding communities, since its inception, BAY has and continues to impact and invest in youths through the development of positive programs and recreational activities.  To date, the organization has engaged over six hundred young people through its various programs including the BAY Marching Band and Dance Group, its Community Park Rehabilitation Program, its Youth Drug Demand Reduction Project and most recently its Job Creation and Entrepreneurship Development Project."

The Belmopan Active Youths are having a Back to School fundraiser on Thursday, July 17th, at the George Price Center.  Looks like they have a diverse line-up of talent coming to perform.

The Belmopan Active Youths, who are very active in the community, and have been hosting basketball matches for the youth, are having their first general membership meeting this evening at 5:30pm, at the George Price Center.  If you are interested in making a difference with them, please go and show your support.  Educate, Engage, Empower!

Congratulations to Gem Turner, who won the Youth Minister's Leadership award at the Belize Youth Awards at the Bliss Centre yesterday.  The Department of Youth Services picked another well deserving awardee, and reading about her hard work is inspiring to say the least.  Congratulations, Gem!

"The Belmopan Active Youths is pleased to congratulate its secretary, Ms. Gem Turner, on her achievement today.  Gem IS the 2013 recipient of this year's Youth Minister's Leadership Award for the Belize Youth Awards.  Not only is Gem a hardworking, dedicated and ACTIVE member of BAY but she is also the President of the University of Belize's Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship; Youth Leader, Praise Team Member and Sunday School Teacher at the Belmopan Baptist Church.  Congratulations, Gem!  Job well done!"
