5 forbidden secrets of digital health masters | #hcsm #hcsmeufr

From www.healthcarecommunication.com

Use these secrets to excel, not just to ‘keep up.’...

Secret 1: Read the right books . In this age of blogs, Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook, picking up a book (or ebook), may seem old-fashioned and quaint. However, the beauty of books is that they provide an opportunity for deep reflection with minimal distractions. Take the time to read a number of business books focusing on the power of storytelling and the changing digital world. You won’t regret it.

Secret 2: Let the machines do the work . I’m addicted to content related to technology and health. Yet, like you, I don’t have time to find the latest information. However, I’ve found a great way to keep up: I let machines do the work for me. Here are two tools I use that may be helpful to you: Twitter and a mobile app called Zite. These technologies have cut down on the time I used to spend finding great content. See if they work for you.

Secret 3 : Embrace your role as a digital health storyteller. In February, the Altimeter Group’s Rebecca Lieb published a great report on the role content is playing within organizations, called “ Content, the New Marketing Equation.” It’s not enough to push content using the latest technology and to hope it sticks. Creating great content requires developing new skills and training people to think hard about the stories they want to tell. This is the key to capturing attention in an environment where it is a scarce commodity.

Secret 4: Know the fundamentals of how and why people consume digital and social media health content. Technology doesn’t matter, people do. If you’re in the business of creating health content online, understanding the fundamentals about why people consume information via social media and the Web is essential. In our report “ Digging Beneath the Surface: Understanding the Digital Health Mom ,” we discuss three ways (embedding, socializing and proacting) online content reaches moms and influences their perceptions. The insights in the report can be applied to many other audiences.

Secret 5: Understand how and why online health content inspires action (changes behavior). Our ultimate goal as health marketers and communicators is to inspire action. We know we need to shift from “push” to “pull” strategies. We recognize owned and earned media is important. But, we have a major problem: producing content is easy, understanding whether it gets people to take action is hard. As an industry, we have a long way to go in terms of understanding why certain digital health content changes behavior. We’ve written an ebook packed with tools and strategies you can use to deepen your understanding of this every important topic.

A suivre donc

jcharlesbrosse's comment May 14, 2012 4:48 AM
Bonjour Lionel
Bon courage
Jean-Charles

Le gouvernement réforme le système de santé

From www.usinenouvelle.com

Social media is not about technology but about relationships.

Key takeaways:

Social media has taken over pornography as the top online activity.

Kindergartens are learning on iPad, NOT chalkboards
If Facebook were a country, it would be the 3rd largest
95% of companies use LinkedIn for recruitment

Brand Social Media Monitoring with Brandseye

From vimeo.com

From Videoinfographics.com: "This video explains how Brandseye software works to keep users informed about how their brand is perceived online and allows them to manage and shape your online reputation.

Though the graphics, visuals and animations are interesting and engaging, what sets this video explanation apart for me is a nice narrative structure that begins by showing the pain a real world business experienced from the problem that this product is intended to solve.

It uses a successful common simplified story structure – situation/complication/resolution."
