As part of the momentum for widespread Asia literacy, this What Works report features stories of leadership and change from selected Australian schools. Read the full report (download PDF 1.6 MB)The following three schools/clusters are highlighted in feature illustrations: they have been motivated by a ‘moral imperative’ to develop students’ Asia-relevant capabilities and have worked from a deep knowledge of the change process to achieve the results they have wanted (Fullan, 2006).

I had the privilege of taking part in a cultural tour of the Hyogo region of Japan in 2013 which included a day trip to Hiroshima. In many ways, visiting this incredible city and meeting some of its resilient, proud residents, was a personal highlight of the tour.

Australia's engagement with Asia: Indonesia is an engaging and easy-to-use teaching resource that supports the Australian Curriculum: Geography. It includes six DVD chapters with related texts and worksheets developed by World Vision and the Australian Geography Teachers Association. It directly addresses two cross-curriculum perspectives: Sustainability and Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia.
