Through actions, objects and electronic devices  -between-  sound materiality and dislocated information.

Mazon´s work explores relations and antagonism through un/stable arrangements which questions the borders of perception and vulnerability, within the experimentation and materialization of concepts as physical objects reacting to its native environment.

TUIO - open framework for tangible multitouch surfaces

TUIO - open framework for tangible multitouch surfaces | Digital #MediaArt(s) Numérique(s) | Scoop.it

TUIO is an open framework that defines a common protocol and API for tangible multitouch surfaces. The TUIO protocol allows the transmission of an abstract description of interactive surfaces, including touch events and tangible object states. This protocol encodes control data from a tracker application (e.g. based on computer vision) and sends it to any client application that is capable of decoding the protocol. There exists a growing number of TUIO enabled tracker applications and TUIO client libraries for various programming environments, as well as applications that support the protocol. This combination of TUIO trackers, protocol and client implementations allows the rapid development of table based tangible multitouch interfaces. TUIO has been mainly designed as an abstraction for interactive surfaces, but also has been used in many other related application areas. Technically TUIO is based on Open Sound Control - an emerging standard for interactive environments not only limited to musical instrument control - and can be therefore easily implemented on any platform that supports OSC. ...

apertus° - open source cinema

apertus° - open source cinema | Digital #MediaArt(s) Numérique(s) | Scoop.it

The goal of the community driven apertus° project is to create a variety of powerful, free (in terms of liberty) and open cinema tools that we as filmmakers love to use. The idea of building an open cinema camera using an Elphel camera for this particular purpose was born in 2006, found many followers over the years and ultimately resulted in this project entitled "apertus" (word definition) and this website.

The goal of the award winning apertus° project is to create free and open technology todays professional cinema and film production landscape and make all the generated knowledge freely available. It all started with creating an open modular camera system consisting of several hardware and software parts using Elphel hardware. Now with the efforts to build the very first open digital cinema camera Axiom from scratch the apertus° project has evolved to the next level: into a platform for film-makers, creative industry professionals, artists and enthusiasts. apertus° is more than just a software/hardware collection, it's a knowledge library, an ecosystem of people supporting each other and advocating freedom. ...
