The work was specially commissioned by Melbourne's main civic centre and cultural district Federation Square as a part of their Creative Program focussing on experimental large-scale public art and its social and communal relevance. The full 16 meters stretch of the Fed Square's Western Terrace is the greatest span traversed by a Tape Installation thus far. The structure had to be constructed with the help of special platforms as it projects from the external walls of the Fed Square's SBS building at the height of 6 meters above ground. Its more slender and tenuous, distinctly willowy form is dictated by the specifics of the bridged span and setting. Tape Melbourne is the first Tape Installation to be executed outside Europe and below the equator. Via Philippe Lejeune

These whirling columns seem to arise both from the ground and dive from the ceiling, creating a fusion between stalagmites and stalactites that turns the place into living cave.

Jorge Mayet, at Horrach Moya Gallery, Palma de Mallorca
Jorge Mayet is a Cuban artist who exhibits mainly in Spain. His job is to make sculptures of trees plants or natural objects, in very small size, a few centimeters. Objects made of fabric, acrylic, and paper copies are not consistent with reality. Jorge likes to think of dispossessing them of trees or ground. The report is particularly elegant.

this major exhibition of American artist Robert Breer brings together his paintings, ground-breaking films and radical sculptures from the last 60 years. Considered one of the most influential animator/film-makers in history, this is the artist’s most comprehensive exhibition to date. Robert Breer sadly died on Saturday 13 August 2011 aged 85. In the industrial area called the cave there are two types of forms. Some are "mechanical", these are stalactites, the second - stalagmites have organic shapes, created by the cascade of accumulating the drops of wax, dripping with stalactites hanging from the ceiling.
