Winter solstice 2015: Everything you need to know about the shortest day of the year - The Telegraph

Winter solstice 2015: Everything you need to know about the shortest day of the year - The Telegraph | The Unseen World | Scoop.it

In the Northern Hemisphere the December solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year with the latest dawn and the sun at it's lowest point in the sky

Anonymous Hades's insight:

"The Winter Solstice has always been celebrated in China as the resting time of the year -- a custom that survives in the time of rest at the new year.  In winter the life energy, symbolized by thunder, the Arousing, is still underground.  Movement is just at its beginning; therefore it must be strengthened by rest, so that it will not be dissipated by being used prematurely.  This principle,  i.e., of allowing energy that is renewing itself to be reinforced by rest, applies to all similar situations.  The return of health after illness, the return of understanding after an estrangement:  everything must be treated tenderly at the beginning, so that the return may lead to a flowering."

From the I Ching:

Fu / Return (The Turning Point) (24).

Divine by Adriana Janaína Poeta

Divine by Adriana Janaína Poeta | The Unseen World | Scoop.it

Dance, like music, poetry, the arts, are murmurs of divine inspiration. All our soul craves and needs to breathe, like the sun and water are needed for the flower.
Show me a world without art, I see a desert.
The nature dresses art to talk and play with us.

Dialogue between religions essential, says pope on first day of African visit - The Guardian | The Unseen World | Scoop.it

Religion could never be used to justify violence, the pope told Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu and Jewish representatives. “All too often, young people are being radicalised in the name of religion to sow discord and fear and to tear at the very fabric of society,” he said.
