PERSPECTIVE for creating audiovisual stories

PERSPECTIVE for creating audiovisual stories | Scriveners' Trappings | Scoop.it

Perspective is a platform for exploring, creating, and sharing audiovisual stories. Today's storytelling involves a mishmash of apps, websites, blog tools, and technologies. Perspective simplifies all this by combining the essential elements of storytelling into a single iPad App.

I have scooped Flowboard before but I thought you may like to read this article about creating presentations on your iPad (iOS 6 or higher) where you will find some great tips for working with Flowboard.

The app is free of charge.

15 iPad Skills Every Teacher and Student should Have - Apps linked to your learning goals | Scriveners' Trappings | Scoop.it

By Med Kharbach

"iPad has made such a radical change in education with more and more school districts  adopting it as a learning tool inside the classroom. Educational Technology and Mobile Learning  has been helping teachers all along the way with reviews and tutorials on how to get started using iPad in education. We have reviewed more than 500 apps and we are planning to do more reviews this year.

"Having accumulated a modest experience in dealing with educational iPad apps, we deem it important that we share with you some of the learning goals you should keep in mind when using iPad with your students. We have particularly associated sets of educational iPad apps with each learning goal to make it easier for you to achieve the targeted goal.

"Check the learning goals below and share with us your feedback. Enjoy"

Shadow Puppet: Digital Storytelling for iOS Devices

Shadow Puppet: Digital Storytelling for iOS Devices | Scriveners' Trappings | Scoop.it

review by Michael Karlin...rated Outstanding

And that's the app!  Yes, it's incredibly simple, but I think that's perfect for this application because it can be used at all ages without much difficulty.  It takes less than 30 seconds to figure out how the application works and it can be integrated in a huge variety of subjects.

Students can narrate their understanding of virtually any topic and then share those narrations with the class or the teacher.  It's an excellent, easy way to get students talking and sharing what they understand about a particular idea.

My only suggestion would be for them to include a drawing tool (sort of like VoiceThread offers) so that students could add lines or shapes to the images as well.

Other than that, I love the simplicity, I think it's an excellent app for the classroom, it could be used in all subjects and grade levels, and to top it all off, it's completely free!

30hands app for storytelling and presentation

Different from other presentation apps, 30hands Mobile focuses on the power of storytelling. Like pages in a book, photos or images are dragged around the desktop into the order of the story. Next, the teacher or student records audio over each image. Finally, the story or presentation can be published to the device’s photo area or uploaded to a 30hands collaborative learning site.
