The famed psychologist explains why one is not the other though they are often confused.

1.       Individualize your teaching as much as possible. Instead of “one size fits all,” learn as much as you can about each student, and teach each person in ways that they find comfortable and learn effectively. Of course this is easier to accomplish with smaller classes. But ‘apps’ make it possible to individualize for everyone.

Of course they aren't. They are the raw material that come together and result in learning styles. I've got to read this :)
Shafali Anand's comment, October 25, 2013 6:18 AM
Read it. I've always found Gardner's MI theory interesting - because it's a great equalizer - when I was growing up logical-mathematical intelligence (in Gardner's terminology) was given the highest importance - art, music, sports etc. were considered talents/gifts - and not intelligences. Gardner made them more respectable by calling them intelligences. This is why I too can call myself intelligent today - visually and spatially intelligent. Ahem!

Google is sticking to their strategy and their value is starting to win people over.  I was never a fan and, through valuable features, I am changing my perspective on the suite of offerings.

As we have progressed, not only in our use of technology but also our understanding of effective leadership, we know that communication includes effective talking but, more importantly, listening. Being able to hear what is being said from those we serve is extremely important to how we develop our schools, and the conversation is extremely valuable. Yet, many schools and organizations use social media in the old fashion: sharing information but not having a conversation. In reality, just because you have ears doesn’t mean you are listening.

5 Tips To Building A Healthy PLN With Twitter

5 Tips To Building A Healthy PLN With Twitter | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

The more I use Twitter, the more I understand the power that comes from connecting. Connecting with friends, connecting with colleagues, connecting with leaders and connecting with valuable sources. It all builds into what has become my most trusted source for professional development and generating ideas.

With a real opportunity to impact personal, professional and intellectual growth, here are five tips to help you build, nurture and grow your PLN with Twitter.

Rebecca Haas's curator insight, February 19, 2014 1:35 PM

This article makes a lot of valid points that can be used in every day on twitter, and in life in general! First impressions are as important on Twitter, and I think that is something many young professionals may overlook in interview and online. Also, I think many people follow their friends on Twitter, even if they are unrelated to their professional career, which can crowd their feed with social related things, rather than tweets related to education. This article also shows that it is possible to use your tweets outside of the Twitter realm, just by presenting your tweets on other social media sites! This seems to be a great checklist for the young professional, helping us utilize a site we most likely already frequent, but enabling us to turn it into a career-helping venue.

A Look into the Causes of Poverty in the U.S.

A Look into the Causes of Poverty in the U.S. | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

"Are more and more people in the western world dropping off the radar and becoming the invisible poor or is the opposite happening?  We recently heard that an astounding 46 million Americans are officially below the poverty line (That's $23,050/year for a family of four according to the official sources).  That number really caught our eye and as such we decided to do a little more digging to help put some more facts and figures around it.  Above is a nice visualization of the results we came up with."

Ivan Koh's curator insight, February 3, 2013 7:37 AM

This is my insight using See-Think-Wonder.
From this statistic, i can see alot of statistic about the number of people who are poor and the people's opinion related to poverty and welfare. In the article, i can see that 46million american are considered to be poor, and form the authors opinion, to prevent porverty, we should manage our wealth and make sure that we earn more than we spend.

I think that from the statistics, most people are poor mostly due to the fact that  they were uneducated in alot of ways. From the statistics, 1.2 million students drop out from high school every year. Thus, these people were mostly uneducated and cannot find a proper job, leading to drugs and borrowing of money. i also think that most people are poor because they are lazy and do not want to help themselves, as agreed by half of the americans that the poor are not doing enough to help themselves, and by 43% of americans that people who are poor can find a job if they are willing to work.

This article and statistics makes me wonder why american governments are not doing enough to educate students the importance of jobs and studies. Because people who are poor can actually work, but are too lazy to do it, this also makes me wonder why the government are giving money to the poor when they are able to help themselves

Brandon Lee's curator insight, February 4, 2013 10:36 AM

The insight of this article merely showed that more and more people does not really have  a good financial health, which also has translated into people wer e "invisible poor" especially those living in the western world. Comparison had been made on its poverty line between USA and UK statistics.

In my opinion, managing a country's budget its not an easy task, this is because a country need competitive global presence and to boost the economy. People need to produce more and more services outside its own country.

I have often thought that a country's population does have an impact on a country's economic growth.

Experts are warning users to expect a steep rise in Bitcointhemed malware attacks following discovery of a new virus called Bitcoin Alarm

The latest virus is based on spam emails that take users to a website called bitcoin-alarm.net. This promises them a Windows app that will send them the latest Bitcoin prices via SMS. But the download contains a Trojan which Arbor research analyst Kenny MacDermid, who discovered the malware, said is designed for stealing login information, and is likely in this case being used to steal Bitcoins.
