Some Good Presentation Tools for Teachers and Students

Some Good Presentation Tools for Teachers and Students | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
As a teacher chances are you have already created a presentation of some sort or presented in front of an audience (e.g., in a conference, at school…etc). And as you know, presenting is a skill that requires practice at two levels: the first level is related to the creation process and the second one is related to the delivery of the final product, that is, the actual presenting before an audience. In today's post, we are  concerned  with the first level: how to create effective and professionally looking presentations.

A Non-Designer’s Guide to Creating Memorable Visual Presentations [Free E-Book]

A Non-Designer’s Guide to Creating Memorable Visual Presentations [Free E-Book] | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
If you’re like most people, you’ve probably created dozens of presentations in your lifetime, and many of these in just under a few hours.

But ask yourself: Do you really know how to design a memorable presentation that will stick in your viewers’ minds for months, even years to come?

The answer is probably no. Most of us have never actually learned the design principles necessary to impact audiences through visual storytelling. Perhaps the closest we have ever come to crafting a visual message is a PowerPoint presentation full of bullet points, overused stock photos and bland color schemes.

10 PowerPoint Tips to Make Your Presentations More Effective

10 PowerPoint Tips to Make Your Presentations More Effective | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
The design of your PowerPoint presentation is often underestimated. Everyone knows the saying, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’, however in PowerPoint-land it seems to be quite the contrary. ‘A thousand words are worth a picture’ seems a more fitting slogan. Slides are filled to the brim with text, which the presenter literally reads out loud. This is the reason why PowerPoint has a dusty and static image. A missed opportunity!

How to Unlock Your Creative Potential Through Visual Thinking

How to Unlock Your Creative Potential Through Visual Thinking | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
Everyone is born creative. If you don’t think so, just recall how you were as a child.

You probably did crazy things like draw hairy, six-armed monsters, make up stories of being a mighty warrior or try to build an amazing contraption that would fly you to the moon and back.

Then you grew up, and like the rest of us, learned to suppress your wildest thoughts and most ambitious dreams.
